Also, if audience is Dud, its critical that musicians pause and interact and play and pause and interact and play. That gets them going. They want those few nudges here and there to shake them up out of their shyness. These are hardworking people who work all day and joy to them is just getting an opportunity to be there in such an event. Their sense cannot be activated instantly. It needs to be provoked constantly
