You would need a tv tuner to convert signal like your tv does, and then output through a HDMI cable @@777smitty4

Wow $253! I bought mine a yr and half ago for $200. I had problems w/ my 4K cloner box: Fire Stick plugged in and the recordings were what appeared to be FPS problems. Best to see recording the ticker tape on the bottom of the screen w/ say Fox Busin channel. So what I did was place an HDMI splitter between the fire stick and cloner box and that helped a lot. One thing I would like is the rewind not gong back 1 whole minute if I missed something 30 secs is better

I get that pastel coloring sometimes from 4k stream links. I believe it has something to do with the fact that I use an AFT 4K Max but my TV isn’t 4K.

I get the same problem on the N-VIDEO SHIELD , Plus i cant get it to record to a hard disc drive even though it’s formatted to ex-fat.

Like another commenter below, I also can't get my device to recognize or export to an external drive. I tried formatting to every option and it never recognizes it. I tried customer service and couldn't get help, but will try again. Otherwise it's a nifty device, but I don't want to only be able to export to thumb drives.

Just 3 settings for recording? Is there one that offers a larger amount? We have about 7 programs we have on the dish DVR. Trying to find one that will record those.

I expected this to be the focus of the review. IMHO this would be the 90% use case. The only time I record manually is if I have to leave in the middle of a show and don’t want to miss it. I also could not live with only 3 slots in a schedule. I record a lot of shows and watch them when I can. I guess I have to keep looking.

Unless the data transfer rate of the internal storage is faster than the external USB port (e.g. NVMe), I see no advantage and prefer to keep the storage external. That way the recorded content is portable and hostable from a media server. Besides, it will increase the cost plus storage is never enough 😂

tv doesn't have anything to do with it other than watching what you are recording, the source to the DVR is the main thing to record anything

Hi Raymond, I show the HDMI in from a source and HDMI out at kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYHWeWd6rdBmn9Usi=Q3CqXUBZvYTJ5KHW&t=224 part of the video but as far as the TV is concerned I guess I thought most have a knowledge of plugging into the HDMI port on the TV. So can i just ask someone, im leaving virgin media ro go with a cheaper company that will be prividing me wuth just boradband. Virgin comes with a tivo box that recirds all my programs ect.. so i will need a similar device. Will this devise in this video do that for me?

Tivo is a much upscaled capture device, this can record what programs you run through it though but you cannot watch one thing while recording another
