Re: calc button Some older keyboards have a calc button in the general area of the nav cluster or numpad. However, the only actually useful implementation of this is in keyboards with a screen where the calc button acts as on onboard calculator, not a hotkey for pulling up the OS calculator. Since this keyboard doesn't have a numpad, I have no idea why they went with this, but probably because they didn't have anything else to do and just decided to throw this on instead of leaving F13 unmapped by default. Kind of weird because who needs a hotkey for calculator? If you need to do quick calculations, pull up your launcher bar (spotlight, Alfred, the one in PowerToys, and I forgot what the Windows alternative to Alfred is) and do a quick calc. Anyone that actually needs it for extended periods of time doesn't need to sacrifice a key for that since they'll have it up anyway. But hey, it's remaps able so it's not a problem. If anything it's one of the more useful random shortcuts companies have added by default. Whole lot better than Keychron's nonremappable backlighting key or something like that. If it had onboard of course I'd understand

Dunno how I feel about placing a shortcut on fn-enter, since that's how you type enter on macs (fn-return → keypad enter), which acts differently than a return because… it's enter, not return, notably in lists and dialog boxes. I guess it's reprogrammable with VIA, but that feels like it might be a hard coded shortcut Same situation on linux sometimes. I guess in Windows they're the same button to the OS? I know for a fact that the keycodes for return and enter are different though, but I guess it's probably a rarely used hotkey for most people. If it can be remapped around, it's fine I guess

Considering that this is a plastic board, how loud would you say this keyboard is relative to something such as a membrane keyboard which I currently use? Would It be suitable for a work environment and/or audible through walls considering I tend to also play games at home next to a bedroom of a young child.

Just get silent switches. Akko Fairies are dead silent in an RT100. I don’t like them, but girlfriend does. Or O-rings. Sounds can vary between all boards and switches. There are some silent switches that make slight noise.
