Fantastic video. Showed a friend of mine and he commented this is better quality than the Discovery Channel. That shark obviously knew you’re a big fan of his species!

Nurse Sharks are 100% my favorite shark... of all the shark diving I have done, my first experience was in Belize with a sleeping nurse shark, and my favorite experience was in Bimini playing and wrestling with nurse sharks who wanted to be too close to the bate box. #NurseSharksRule

Absolutely agree. Nurse shark’s interactions with us as humans and with their own, have proven to be very unique and shows how smart and awesome they are. This particular interaction was such an eye-opener for me … I had to make a video to show a different side of sharks. Again … not a “human killing machine” … but instead “more of a cool machine”

…”when the marine animal wants to be touched…” I’m not sure about that one.
@Underwater_Explorations Жыл бұрын
Lol ... I understand what you are saying. I would start by saying I am a firm believer of not touching things underwater, corals, delicate creatures, animals that can't go away or can get hurt, wrecks, etc. And I do recognize this is a sensitive and controversial topic. I respect all points of view. Regarding my comment on the video, the point I'm trying to make is very simple: We (divers) are about the slowest thing underwater, with very very few exceptions. Therefore if a fish, shark, turtle etc... don't want to be bothered by our presence, or beyond that, touched (in any way) then they simply swim away faster that we can even attempt to follow. In this particular case, this shark followed us for the entire dive (not the other way around) He kept coming back bumping into me several times, on purpose, swimming in circles around me and not in a hostile way. I understood he was interacting with me and when he came on straight on that canyon bumping into me and laid on the sand 1 feet away from me, I understood he perhaps wanted to be touch, so I did ... and following that event, he continued coming back at me for what I interpret "he enjoyed our interaction and wanted more" Hence there was no harassment nor inappropriate touching from my humble perspective. Thank you for your comment, I do appreciate when people express their opinion respectfully, specially if they disagree with me 🤙🏻👌🏻

@@Underwater_Explorations thanks. I think this opens the door to so many things, many of them bad. There is too much we don’t understand about marine animals. I like the old adage, to avoid problems. Reminds me of what my mother used to say “see with your eyes, not with your hands”.. Happy bubbles.
