The last show I went to I picked up a 2023 Bowman Paper Sky Blue /499 Termarr Johnson in a PSA 9 for $7.50. I could not believe it. The dealer was super cool and just wanted to move some lower end slabs.

i lowkey love 50 cent boxes sm! i had a huge find couple weeks ago at the card shop i frequent. they somehow mistook a heritage throwback uniform variation for a regular base. i ended up selling that 50 cent card for about 150.00 after fees :)

I don’t go to card shows bc I don’t have time, but I was a pro magic the gathering player since I was 8 and the best part was going through $1 card boxes at those shows. I can find a ton of stuff I need but solely bc I’m a collector. I don’t need to flip anything. And if I do, I buy plenty of boxes. I mean I pre-ordered a case of Bowman 2024. *sadly unlike Panini I don’t get anything with the pre-order. It’s not like First off the Line”.

**I have a Mojo Jackson Holiday getting touched by PSA at the moment, and a Gunner Henderson sitting in my box that is a 1:5300ish hobby boxes card. I mean even at $300 for the Henderson, there has only been 3 made bc opening one of those cards is harder to open than a 1/1. I have the only remaining copy of the 3 that hasn’t sold yet.

Each one was a total of $2,250, got 4 of them, and soon they will most likely release their own basketball cards set in the future, during the basketball off-season and cause my buys to be worthless.

@@overtheyearssports5703 well you see I play a special fantasy baseball where it’s 10k entry and winner gets all. So I made a bot that tracks players and blah blah computers turn baseball, basketball, and Soccer into 0’s and 1’s and it speculates the potential for players. I also do that with minor league players. If you notice, unlike the past where you find a stud in the 16th round, that doesn’t really happen anymore. We finally fixed player evaluation and if you notice who the top prospects are, they are all either 1st rounders or guys from overseas that get high bonuses. So by putting that idea into the bot, you can pretty much figure out who is the top prospects and which ones have the highest potential outcomes. Like the Orioles seem like they have a great team top to bottom, but what do they lack in the minor league system? They have no pitching. Even with adding Burnes they lack any minor league pitching prospects that will be good. Then again, there is a severe lack of baseball prospects that can pitch due to Spin Rate and Velocity. Every young kid is getting TJ surgery like it’s Botox for old women. Skenes is the one exception to that. He will be in the majors probably halfway through the season, like at the all star break. So the orioles will have to move a lot of their prospects to get guys. That means Cowser might be traded before the end of the season, and Kjerjad (probably spelled that wrong) will also be gone. That means the Orioles will lack a quality 1B and have holes in the OF.

@@overtheyearssports5703 also I still don’t own a Salas 1st. He was a 1st in a small mega box set and the hobby box is like $700 each. I do have some really valuable MLB and Bowman SSR’s, but they might be out of your spending range. Like a (I can get my cards graded at home bc my mom was a paper grader “pre-internet”). But I have a Henderson SSR that is 1:5800(ish) hobby boxes and a Holiday SSR from Bowman. Also I had a sick streak with MLB 1st this year. My auto’s on 4 mega boxes were: Hancock /199 on card, Wicks /50, and 2 exact copies of Cowser. Not signed, I got a Rivas to /72, a CJ Abrahams /76, Devers to /89, Valdez Original to /99, and one of those silver pack Frank Thomas green to /99. That doesn’t even cover the mem, like a City Connect Hunter Brown /50, and a Nester Cortez mem that has a Yankees pinstripe to /199.
