Nice job! I did a video comparing the Martyr to my 8100 head, and it completely nails it. In fact, most people have been saying they like the pedal better! Definitely one of my favorite pedals ever.

Your take on the Symbolic tone is actually better than the one on the record IMO. The palm muted notes just chonk harder yet clearer, and the rest of the tones just sound spot on. Nice job, both to you and Master Effects.

The death tone was really good. You did that song justice. Well done. Some of the meanest riffs come from that symbolic album. Start to finish it’s a masterpiece.

I love Symbolic (the song) but when Zero tolerance comes in with the drums then drops a bomb on your face when the riffs start. Perfection.

The contour and gain knob seems to behave pretty much like the real ones on the 8100. The pedal even have the same looking knobs ! I used to have a 8100. I miss it sometimes...

It's sick, and like most pedals an amazing one trick pony for extreme metal. But for a little more money i could just buy a used valestate head lol. This is definitely awesome regardless. Edit: the pedal is $200, a valvestate used goes about $250-$350. So i see this as a portable solution for someone who wants that tone, or someone who can't find one locally and wants to save on shipping.
@themodernguitarist4 жыл бұрын
One of the big problems with those old Valvestates is the reliability. Hell someone recorded a demo on youtube and their 8100 died at the end of the video. I also owned one and had volume drop out issues.
@lichkrieg48984 жыл бұрын
@@themodernguitarist touche, but i mean like i said the people who need portability should probably grab the pedal and if you're a studio guy or a purist the real deal is probably going to be the best route.
@lichkrieg48984 жыл бұрын
@@themodernguitarist not being a dick or anything but the pedal probably should offer a little more value compared to the actual amp. Like $175-$180 would urge me to buy it a lot more when i catch the actual amp at the same price occasionally.
@GordOlson4 жыл бұрын
@@lichkrieg4898 I have a video on my channel where I A/B this pedal with my actual 8100 head, and pretty much everyone is saying they like the pedal better, which surprised me, I have to admit. One thing for sure though, there's a massive difference in the amount of noise between the two. The Martyr is extremely quiet!
@lichkrieg48984 жыл бұрын
@@GordOlson thats actually cool because in my quest for high gain amps, that valvestate price tag looks mighty appealing since i need more volume and gain than I'm getting from my joyo mjolnir.
