I have the 6a myself and it's definitely a camera where you have to tweak to get the aesthetics you want because it will favor blur and sharpening. Most of these times I find myself preferring the Pixel shots especially just how dull it looks because I find it more salvageable, post production isn't that difficult and I think that's certainly Pixel's signature. But iPhone shots are really good with portrait and they've always been good with it since the beginning. It's making me start to believe that Google just tossed portrait for the sake of feature parity and they don't care that it exists anymore, considering they could've done a better job than this to be honest.

Though I can disagree with a few of the results, I pretty much agree. While, as someone who ran a commercial photo lab for quite a few years, I could easily improve any of those images, the Nothing Phone leaves a lot to be desired. We can argue over color, contrast and exposure. But both the iPhone and the Pixel have more useful data to work with. The Nothing Phone would be almost impossible to fix with a number of the images just lacking the data. Of course, I’m assuming these are just “out of the phone” jpegs. As such, which is the way most people will use them, in my experience, while the iPhone doesn’t always take the better picture in some way, on average, it does have a much higher hit rate, which, for most people, is what matters, as we can see here. What would be interesting would be to see the quality of the images you can extract from these phones in RAW mode. Apple has that, and I believe the Pixel does too. I don’t know much about the Nothing Phone. But for those of us who are more serious, Apple RAW can make a big difference.

The thing is, you can edit all the images afterwords to get them closer to what looks best anyway. Maybe some people don’t, but I edit all my pics on the phone. iPhone gives you the cleanest image to start with though. And for night mode on iPhone, I’ve found that if you adjust the exposure down, the night mode pics come out less bright and washed and are a little more true to life while still capturing detail.

I was thinking the same thing. I could subtly adjust the settings on each of the camera app on these mobiles and make any one of the pictures stand out more than the others. The criteria was a bit random for each example too. It's open to bias for sure. Also lens flare is cool, no?!
@mootsym2 жыл бұрын
@@eamonicker eh. the biggest knock on the iphone cameras is that green orb. I can't justify spending $800-$1,100 on a phone until they fix that ridiculous issue. I heard there's a new coating on the lenses this year that's supposed to help-- even though there's reportedly been more cracks with it -_-.. because of course.

1:52 That moment when you switch from the camera that films the Mac to the image itself makes me say that you are using a camera with good quality colors and that the Mac screen is excellent. These are exactly the same colors that are displayed on my screen as the colors of the Mac.

I liked blinded videos like this. But why compare 2 phones to another that is half their price? I think that you should have used a Pixel 6, which is a comparable price point with a superior camera. With that said, the fact that the 6a came in second really is impressive, especially because several of the second place photos were actually pretty nice and just a matter of personal taste.

Would have made more sense to compare the iPhone SE since the 13 is almost double the price
@peterm51872 жыл бұрын
Very often I think that the 6A looked more natural and realistic compared to the iPhone, but the iPhone was still chosen to be the better one. I assume persons like phones which take punchy vibrant colors. The bouquet effekt on the 6A is not good. My Pixel 4 does the same. It can't recognize edges very well. The Nothing phone colors and way how it includes all this softness is terrible.

Thank you for the review, the sampling of photos show you the strengths of software versus sensors. Not every device is great at every situation but there is a difference in price ranges in the phones.

Many people say that pixel is the most realistic but that isn't that accurate. In portraits, it tends to overdark faces often and the eyes look just dark. Hope it get fixed in pixel 7 pro cause is the only problem I found. Overall is GREAT.

Not a great test as the settings on the phone makes a huge difference. On a lot of the shots the favourite one was simply slightly warmer but the second best had more detail so a few secs in tweaking the shot would have given an even better result. Not really fair to compare the Nothing phone to these premium offerings. Why not compare it to similar priced Android phones rather than phones that cost maybe twice as much?

In the US at least, the 6a costs less than the Nothing phone

Loved the video! But some of the shots like the boy in the pitch dark I don't think any camera (mobile or otherwise) would deal well with so all of them are doing well! Would you even want or need to take a picture like that in such low light? Its kind of asking the impossible whilst being unneeded 🙂

You have to remember this channel is Apple fanboys I've watched their blind comparisons they will always have the iPhone come out on top in all scenarios they should've compared the iPhone SE 3rd gen to the rest of the phones but they know that wouldn't be a fair comparison because it only has one camera

I think each camera has different shooting styles and their own strengths and weaknesses. Even in the DSLR and mirrorless camera universe , they all take photos differently

Also most issues they have with the photos can be fixed with a good editing tool. Snow is a good free one for example.

I own the pixel 6A and think it's a great value for the price. The low light shots are great. I've taken tons of pictures and I'm very impressed especially when I only got it for $100 the iPhone did pretty good but it should be winning every time for the price. Great video!
@aerosmillie2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. Very subjective. Are the photos rated on being Instagram ready the best photo to work with and edit? Either way I agree with the outcome. iPhone 1st, pixel 2nd and Nothing 3rd. Possibly some colour or contrast work to do with the Nothing images to make less flat perhaps.
@paultasker7788 Жыл бұрын
The pixel 6a stock camera is good but ive installed a modded camera which allows you to configure it and I'm getting better results. I've turned the noise reduction down a lot and the sharpening down a lot as well as i prefer a much more natural and less processed photo

Guys it's worth it purely. I'm using from day 0ne . Pros: 1) Design like iPhone 2) Dual 5G access . I'm using Airtel(300 to 400 Mbps) & Jio( 250 to 350 Mbps). It's a true 5G experience. Where others devices yet to get 5G support. 3) Camera 4) Build quality - masss. I've dropped from 5 ft it's not getting broken 😎 5)Speakers- louded Cons: SOFTWARE -DEVICE LAG, MANY SOFTWARE'S ARE NOT Supportive, FINGER PRINT SENSOR IS NOT WORKING IN 90% of the app( It's getting fixed) HD SUPPORT ONLY ONE HANDED USE is not there. Best Phone❤️
