Are they wax or oil based? I watched some people saying they're wax, but in the box is written oil based.

The box does say that they're oil based, but I honestly thought they were wax based. They color like they're wax and seem similar to Prismacolor to me, but they're not quite as good as those top end brands.

As as a artist who mainly works with colored pencils there a lot of colors in the same type or too close to the base color, so the set isn't that "big"

I love this set! I've swatched all of the colors and they are different enough for me to enjoy each and every one of them. Colored pencils are so great because there are so many different brands, so there's a set for everyone to find one that fits their needs. :-)

Did you expect that set to have 300 completely different colours? C'mon it's clear that with so many colours in a set there have to be some similar ones too. So what? Don't try to take away someone's joy by minimizing this set.

@@Aliaselias727 I completely agree. There are some shades that are similar, but different enough that I can use them with no problem. It makes blending really easy for me. I have smaller sets, and I definitely prefer this larger set with the variety. They're not for everyone though. Some people think 300 colored pencils in one set is crazy and overwhelming. I get it. I love art because it's so individual and people can find joy in what works for them, just like you said. ☺
