If it was just about paying the rent they easily could have liquidated some of the contents to cover the cost.

The owner of the second storage unit may have died as well.... His journal - specifically "I want to recover. I will recover." and "strategies for healing" - along with his focus on positive thinking, mantras, and the crystal bible they found (most people use crystals for healing properties), leads me to believe that he was really sick or even terminally ill and trying to cure himself with holistic treatments. Or perhaps he was simply looking for some enlightenment and peace in the end. Regardless, I find it kind of sad.

Based on all of the old history books and the plethora of pills and supplements, it could be safe to assume it was an older individual. So here's how abandoned storage units work: -The storage facility leases you the unit. -In the lease it says that if you fall behind on the payments the facility can sell the contents to make up for the money you owe. -The facility CAN NOT look through the unit at any time, nor is anyone allowed to enter it until after purchasing it (though you are allowed to open the door and look inside before purchasing). -The facility sells your unit (usually auction style) and any amount OVER what you owed on the unit is then given back to you. (So if you owed $100 and the unit sells for $300, the facility gets their $100 and you get the remaining $200). -The purchaser of the unit, by law, now owns ALL of the contents of the unit. -The person who bought the unit has a set amount of time (usually 24-48 hours) to remove the contents. -The storage facility puts the unit up for open lease once more. That's the long and the short of how abandoned storage units work from someone who actually used to work as an assistant manager at a storage facility. You're welcome.

That s true story indeed.It s a one in a lifetime thing if you find those expensive stuff in units.Most of the time you can resell or repaor and or clean the things and sell. But only resellers with own shop and or resell on Ebay and other sites make decend money but also lose money on some auctions when a unit only has stuff that is so bad it s only destination will be the trash. Just like those amazon pellets...only then you ve gotten more chance there are goods in there that can resell and give you enough profit to at least break even plus no cleaning up the storage ( huge shippingcosts that also need to pay for if you can t pick it up yourselff.)

Yeah, turning a profit on abandoned storage units takes a keen eye, a little know how (on what to look for), and some connections with sellers who would actually give you what the items are worth. Otherwise, the average Joe is not likely to find much of anything in one. The majority of abandoned storage units are like the second unit seen in this video; mostly trash with a few pieces worth keeping or reselling, usually enough to barely turn a profit, if at all.

@@PaPaPOVEY That’s not how they are supposed to stop germs. The surgical masks are designed in a way that water can’t get through, it you wanted to you could almost use it like a bucket. Since almost all of the germs are stuck to water droplets it stops the droplets effectively stopping most of the virus.

because they're old baseball cards that are no longer in circulation of iconic players that made the sport world famous. I think it's honestly not that much considering joe doyle's card is worth $312k, hank aaron is worth $357,594, special edition joe doyle is $414,750, 1914 babe ruth is $517k, 1952 mickey mantle is worth $525k. The most valuable card is honus wagner at $2.8m. Baseball cards increase in worth more than pretty much anything in the world because of rarity, collectability, fans and durability of the cards. Sealed packets are usually worth quite a lot too.
