Me neither! The look of the content doesn’t impress me at all, I prefer my journaling bibles with colour pictures for £30 tbh. I don’t think the red cover and page markers and fancy packaging is worth all that extra cash. It looks more like a trendy statement piece.

@ A Frisch Perspective ... Ha ..!...that bible would go over big in my church.. I live in Nebraska... our slogan is "GO BIG RED".... everyone would love it!.... if the cost on the Red Bible from Good publishing drops to about 40.00 and comes out in a different translation I may just buy one and donate it to our church... Alabama is Not the only Red State....

To me this is a $100 Bible being marketed as a $300 Bible. Don’t get me wrong it’s a cool design and it’s very unique, but I think this will only resonate with a niche crowd. Thanks for the review but I’m not selling any premiums to buy one.

Joshua Henderson I was thinking I would Not pay anymore than 60.00 for it.. then he said it was pasted down.. which means a possible glued binding?... now the price drops to 40.00 or less... glued or pasted bindings come apart after a few openings...

I'd keep this one on my coffee table to be used, not a bookshelf. I'd have another Bible with all my notes to tote around to church and such. It definitely has a high quality and modern look. Thanks!

I just looked at this Bible on their website and if I’m not mistaken, they have used the typeface HELVETICA!!!! If that’s true, I’m SUPER STOKED! Helvetica is THE ultimate typeface in my opinion and I’ve always wanted a Bible in Helvetica! I’ll be ordering! Thanks so much for making me aware of this Bible! You rock dude!

@@timwildsmith thank you for clarifying sir! It looks pretty close to Helvetica so I’m happy with it either way. The comfort print is actually pretty great, especially in large print, but this typeface has clear type that is pleasant as well. We have so many options today that we can’t really complain. My first impression... as an Alabama fan, I love the red! It seems very intentional in making a statement. The price and the design scream that this is leaning more toward being a usable piece of art from Eric Haze, as opposed to a mega durable pulpit or family bible. This doubles as a functional bible for reading but mostly it is a conversation piece (like most art is intended to be) DARING people to ask and learn about it. "Do not be afraid" is appropriately the moniker for GPC because this bible will draw attention and conversation, so lean into the interaction rather than shying away... Great reactions and I look forward to the review, and I may in the future try to review one as well.

@@timwildsmith Yeah, I think it would be in a different category... So comparing it to other editions might defeat the purpose of the existence of the edition... However, it is our nature to do so as consumers and reviewers. I'll go out on a limb and say that this bible is less for the frugal bible student and more as an accent and conversation piece, like a very unique coffee table edition, in the home of someone who might entertain quite a bit, or for a fan of Eric Haze artwork. You said it well that this seems to have a very "hipster" vibe and I agree.

Thanks for the review champ. Recieved mines in the mail last week and was super excited. Must admit the price was kind of steep but portions of each bible sold are donated to charity. I was lucky enough to recieve one of the hand signed version from Haze which is a plus ❤.

Thanks for the review. Though I can appreciate the artistic expression here, I'd have to say it's not for me. My first Schuyler PSQ arrived today. It cost me 200 usd, 31 usd for shipping, and 51 cdn for customs duties (so, about 350 cdn in total). It was worth every penny.

Great unboxing review. I completely understand first impressions. And I know a lot of people are scratching their heads of why $300 bucks. However, this bible was made in USA (and in New York City no less!) With the famed artist, limited run edition, and donation marketing appeal, the price is understandable. This is a whole different take of Bible publishing. While it offers a visual "wow" factor, a Bible is meant to be somewhat portable and to be pleasantly read. I give a thumbs up for creativity. However, I personally believe, this bible was fashioned to be used more of a "conversation" piece. It is not your grandfather's bible for sure! LOL

Obviously that Bible is a work of art. Perhaps it is something to be opened sat down on a large desk with art supplies and begin to paint to draw to be creative as an artist at the same time using God's word as an inspiration for one's passion in the Arts

So here's my take. I appreciate the craftsmanship, how they put the Bible together is beautiful. The presentation is beautiful ad well. However (for me) I prefer my bible to be more humble and less ostentatious. I feel like if I had this bible, I would never read it for fear of damaging it. Which kind of negates it's purpose. Again, just imo

I also watched the short 2 minute video from GPC,.. on this page to try to gain a better insight. on perhaps why this bible should be so costly.... and somewhere about half way thru the narrator mentoned it was made from 100% recycled something or other.. I couldn't make out the word ..maybe "paper"?....they have to share why recycled anything would up the cost more than something brand new.. or were they trying to say that .. by using recycled things they were able to keep the cost down to 300.00?...this sounds like a good way to make some extra cash..for starving artists..I am glad they are trying to support the person designing the book titles in this manner.... I will take a black marker and write down some Bible books names and take it to a publisher...I can get a black ,marker from Amazon like that for just a few dollars...I could use some cash as well.. to invest in more bibles...

I'm very interested in this but maybe in an NASB or ESV translation. I really like the thick high quality paper. I do like Schuyler but feel the 28gsm paper of theirs is too thin for my taste. No Leather cover and a $300 price tag has me scratching my head in confusion. I think $150 to 175 would be reasonable ...

I was thinking like 30 - 40 dollars....It is hardcover after all.... and by the way,, I bought a Schuyler 6 months ago and it is still wrapped up and in the box.. I don't think I want to even take it out and ruin it..and Heaven forbid I cannot write in it.. the paper is sooo.. thin.. it may tear...even by flipping thru it..one can cause permanent damage by paper folding.. or dog earing.. it is THAT delicate...the good thing about this bible.. if it ever drops to 40.00 or less I wouldn't care if it got some coffee stains on it or if I dropped it....or even threw it...

An article criticizing premium Bibles has to be nothing but clickbait. There is certainly no shortage of good, budget Bibles available. I just did a quick search online for inexpensive Bibles, any translation, imitation leather cover, and got over a thousand results. As for that Bible, it looks really good. The font might be modern, but it looks very good. I'd rather have cream paper throughout. And are there any other premium Bible with hardcover bindings? And as for the red, well, the Bible SHOULD be well read ;)

Yeah, it was pretty “clickbaity.” Schuyler and Cambridge have both made some premium hardcovers in years past. Great Bibles.

Grant Kruger .. you realize of course with age and use..the paper in most bibles naturally dulls to an off-white or light cream color..?..... I have several bibles that this is the case.. I know because when I compare bibles I have used since the 1990 s or so ...to the same exact bibles recently purchased.. there is a definite difference...in toming.... the key is ...bible paper only dulls and pales by the exposure to air..and handling.... the bibles I have on shelves.. not hardly used.. are still a brilliant white.. even from the 1980 's..

Most of us pay 100 dollars for shoes roughly to last us a few years or less.. so buying a 300 dollar bible that could last 20 years probly way more of well taken care of is worth it if that’s what u want.

I wish you would shoot more from your POV, like Bible Believing Christian does, her videos show the entire Bible up close, and the font size and all details. I like your videos, but some are hard to see the actual Bibles, like in this case. I dont care for this particular Bible color, font size or price. That is just not my preference.

Its hard to justify a 300.00 dollar price tag. The materials and construction method used just doesn't add up. That being said, it is a beautiful bible, and value is of course subjective.

I love red, but this bible isn't grabbing me. The font is too small and the paper is too thick. Why?! To big and heavy without the wow. After what you said at the start, I expected actual artwork or something more funky from the artist....I'm a graphic designer and could have made it more interesting and workable that this is! I'll stick to my Allen's, Schuyler's, and Cambridge's....because they are superb to look at, hold, and read, and are luxurious bibles. Btw, most of my premium bibles cost me around $300 to $400 Australian and ship is a bomb. This red bible is an anticlimax.

I see the price is now at 240.00... hmmm.. maybe the publishers realized this bible was too costly for what they were asking as well..?...when the price drops to what this bible should cost... Wow, $300 for a paste down hardcover. You Could buy any Goatskin Cambridge, RL Allan, Schuyler Bible for less money or buy or a 1611 Facsimile for that price. I have many of these bibles I just said and each one including my longprimer, Schuyler Quintel, Cambridge turquoise and my 1611 KJV facsimile are 10X nicer

“Do not be afraid” of what? The price? I’ve never really commented on Bible reviews. I own 2 Schuyler’s and 1 preachers Bible from Steadfast. I don’t see 1 single reason why $300 is a justifiable price other than it being a brick of a Bible.

Seems like the $300 is to cover the artists name, and the fact it’s not made in China. Kinda cool concept, definitely not worth $300 USD in my opinion

Artist + USA manufacturing + paper + gold foil + packaging + lots of small design features + Compassion donation ... it starts to add up when you really take it all in.

I think we forget that Chinese manufacturing is much cheaper because the laborers are payed next to nothing. So we have a distorted view of what something should cost. The value of knowing that the people who made our products were payed far better wages should be considered when given the made in the USA option.

@@TheJasonsnewaccount Agreed. This Bible is made in USA (NEW YORK CITY!), along with the Artist, and it's Compassion donation. With a limited run, this justifies why it is a $300.00 I don't know if it is practical to read it, but it does make a fashion statement.

@Josiah Russell .. it could just be a sign of the times.. everything made here seems to cost .more.... we value our skills too highly... it saddens me to have heard last month when the John Deere folks went on strike.. and the company agreed to their demand of a 10.00 an hour pay raise... they were still unsatisfied...and had to have some other demands met besides.. no wonder an average burger cost about 2.00 from a fast food place nowadays.....when I started working minimum wage was 1.65 an hour... and 50 years later I was still making less than 20.00 per hour when I retired.. and I was satisfied..what I am saying... people don't need to charge an outrageous amount of money for something.. they should be satisfied with less....

$300.00 for a bible?!?!?! Really??? The most I ever paid for a bible is $45 or $55. Now that I have found & online christian store, I don't have to spend more $30. I've even got some good bible deals in thrift stores, paying as low as a $1 for some great bible finds!!!!!

The publishing company has maybe gone away? Social media accounts don’t seem to have anything current, follower count is extremely low, third party handling sales and bible appears to have changed color/design. Just my observations.

it's nice to be a bible reviewer.I suppose........ I have heard from other reviewers where..they get their bibles for free just for reviewing them.. so I can appreciate the position you are in... If you had to speak honestly.... I suppose about every bible you were given free as part of the review.. I imagine.. you would not be getting very many to review.. because honestly some publishers.. publish ..Junk for an ungodly amount of money...this is Not the first overpriced Bible I have seen reviewed....but it probably is what I feel to be the most over priced..

ya i mean its more like a pretentious art piece by some artist bringing us the bible in a new innovative $300 dollar way. Jesus would smack you with this bible and tell you to put that $300 towards something else. All jokes aside it's not my style and i don't know much about premium bibles, i don't think the average person would buy one.
