Booze and the internet are a bad combination. I may have bought a knife or two (or a sword) that I normally wouldn't. At least you got a pretty sweet blade out of it. So far I've been impressed with every magnacut blade that I've bought. I still enjoy my 1095's and other steel's but magnacut seems to have the best properties of all worlds. Easy maintenance, bullet proof rust resistance and great edge retention. I haven't seen any patina on any of mine yet but I use that beeswax knife butter that I mentioned in one of your vids from last month. Magnacut probably doesn't need it but it gets some just out of habit. I don't see it's smaller size as a detriment, it just means that you're more likely to carry it. I've lots of big, pretty blades that rarely get used because they got left home or in the pack for being inconvenient.
