I’m not gonna lie i love Air Ships mainly bc of the 1984 on the box. But after I got my first pair I loved the simple old school look of these, they are like Jordan 1s but not, and lastly that great $140 price tag. Jordan 1s are going up in price and it’s not worth it at all. The Air Ships are built better, the insoles are AMAZING, and I like the colors.

You just said a lot that needs to be heard by ppl the same color as me. I’m a 45yr old sneaker head been buying shoes since the Jordan 4. The original 4s not retros. Had a shoe store right down the the street from from me. Everybody was there for releases and everybody got the shoe. The culture wasn’t what it is now there was no such thing as reselling because everyone got the shoe. Every type of person color, religion, whatever and all we talked about was balling and the tech in the shoe aka the airbag the netting the weight whatever. It’s the one area where it didn’t matter what you looked like or money background or any of that mainly because rich kids went to the mall, everybody else went to this store which was black owned and didn’t turn away or ignore anybody. I love the fact you said do the research because that’s all we had then no cell phones no computers for that. They didn’t exist unless you were rich or were a hustler. But we ALL respected each other and didn’t get mad if there was a story behind said shoe or clothing. Malcom X hats with the big X we’re in and if you were white like me and you had that hat you had better been respected in the community and understood and overstood what that hat meant or you were going to have a bad day and damn sure lose your hat. It wasn’t racism it was because you were frontin. That simple now frontin is glorified. Especially people my color. My grandfather who played the trumpet in a local jazz group use to always say “ you can’t understand the rhythm if you don’t know the blues” that stuck with my my whole life. When I walked out my front door I saw it there was nowhere to run because I’m that glowing white 😂 but all I’m saying is that your right and that dude just don’t get it. Never will. I don’t think your racist or race baiting. Truth hurts people who have secrets they hide well, so that’s some food for thought. Needless to say I love the fact that black owned companies and designers are doing these collaborations with Nike and Jordan Brand. Hopefully it makes ppl think and learn. It’s hard to see other ppls reality. Especially now, because so much stuff is going on. Sorry for being long winded but I agree 100% with you. Keep doing what your doing and never back down and speak your truth. This needs to be heard!

I like Nottripping cuz I'm really tired of sneaker culture being corny and all about limited crap and monetary value of the shoes! I like your videos too bro, I just found em to be honest and I'm kinda white, 1/2 Assyrian, 1/2 Sicilian and to be honest I love sneakers and I'll always wear em, I could give a F$&K who tells me what I can and can't wear!! I'm a wear what I want!! But I have to give my black brothers the respect they deserve for being the originators of hip-hop music which is my style of dress. I've also been into sneakers since I was 9, collecting since 1997. Seen lots of trends come and go. To be honest, ethnicities aside, sneaker culture started going south when all the suburb kids got into them!! It made sneaker culture corny which was always influenced by hip-hop/Punk culture, Urban styles, Skateboarding, Graffiti and street artist etc.

Seeing white people give testimony on their parents saying they can't wear certain sneakers because they were "made" for black people is something else but I should expect that😂😂...I think trippin means well, his delivery just turns certain people off. What I don’t understand is this, why is it a problem when black people get a brand that tells our story? Why does it get turned into these shoes are ONLY meant for black people and others can’t wear them?
