Very interesting product indeed. If you can get these chips cheap, these boards offer a great value proposition for tinkerers.
Let me know what you think down below!

Update: I figured it out. If an nvme ssd slot takes only nvme drives but not sata, like this board, that most likely means the slot is running off the pcie lanes directly off the cpu. So whereas sata goes through the south bridge or chipset, this slot appears to only run off the cpu which does not have a sata controller. Theoretically this would allow for better speed unless the generation of the slot presents a bottleneck.

Dude, this video was so informative for me, as an SI with 300 plus PCs built (20 of which had this kind of mb). I watched a lot of videos, but never learnt so much

The first digit of an E5 processor denotes the maximum concurrent cpus that can be used at the same time. So an E5 4650 V2 is intended to be ran with up to 4 cpus on the same board. E5 2650 V2 maximum of 2 cpus on the same board. As you scale up the number cpus and cores the amount of power that is available to each core decreases, hence the lower clock speeds. So the E5 1650 V2 is expected to be the only cpu on the motherboard, and it is only 6c/12t so the power envelope allows for higher clocks.

Right, I was originally upset that Intel wouldn’t allow 2000 and 4000 series chips to clock higher if they were in a single socket system, but I quickly realized that by keeping the clock speed slow and by bending them as 2000 series and 4000 series, it’ll actually allowed Intel to get away with using either defective or less refined lower binned silicon for those chips. So it’s actually kind of smart. Like it’s a very real possibility that the physical silicon in a 2000 series or 4000 series Zion wouldn’t actually be able to hit 3 GHz or whatever the case is

Gaming is something that I am interested in. My current rig has a X79SE Plus motherboard, Xeon E5 2660 V2 cpu, 16GB 1866Mhz DDR3 ram. All I'm lacking is the graphics card. Should I pair it with a GTX780 3GB Windforce, R9 380 4GB, or RX550 4GB? All three are within my budget range🤔

Its a Mini-DTX mobo (19x19 cm), its a pretty popular format for chinese x79 boards. And I have a Matx x79 with a e5 2689, its do a good work.

Isn't this a X79 board instead of a X99 one? X79 is for Sandy/Ivy Bridge Xeons (v1 and v2), while X99 supports Haswell/Broadwell Xeons (v3 and v4), even though they share the same socket

This is really cool, all that for like $40 is absurd. I’ve kept my eye on these on Ali express but I’ve always been skeptical. It’s also nice to consider that it’s all recycled but I mean I don’t feel like they make too much of an ecological impact

Everything helps though. I think they are really neat from a tinkering standpoint. An itx board for this cheap is awesome.

I've got this board labelled as a "Zsus X99 ITX", and the logo is a blatant Asus ripoff too. Same board tho! Must be a bulk unit where they just swap a few chipset components and voila.

It makes perfect sense if you have spent some time in China and seen how the contract assembly business there works. There are a whole bunch of small contract manufacturers there, mostly in Guangdong, and the market is extremely competitive. As a result, they can't afford to have much downtime, so they have a bunch of line filler products that they run when they don't have any external work to do. There are also some design houses that specialize in this market and will sell you a design package that has all the PCB manufacturing information, firmware and other programming files, manuals, etc. These are sold on a non-exclusive basis, so multiple assembly shops will be making the same product except for any local changes they make. There are also often multiple revisions of the same design floating around, typically driven by parts availability. When you are dealing with stuff that's in an enclosure, it gets even more confusing, because they typically have multiple suppliers as well, and the factories will typically buy from whoever has the stock. This leads to interesting situations where you can have two identical looking products with different insides (because they are basked on different design package revisions) and different looking products with the same insides (because they are based on the same design package, but have sourced the housing from different sources). There are also a bunch of resellers that pretend to be manufacturers and people that actually are manufacturers, but who bootlegged the design package and hence don't have any technical support from the designers and end up making products that again look exactly the same but have serious performance deficits.@@TrippTech
