I am an avid Qur'an collector. I have a collection of Qur'ans in Arabic and English with Arabic side by side. Reading the Qur'an in Arabic with understanding is the most mind-blowing experience you will ever have. But that will come with time. Even after learning to read and understand Arabic I still enjoy reading a good quality translation to see how others understand the verses. I just recently picked up The Qur'an Beheld translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller with Arabic-English. This is my favorite translation of the Qur'an by far. Its very eloquent and descriptive with its wording, which helps to create the image in my mind as I read. My Second favorite is the Clear Qur'an translated by Dr. Mustapha Khattab with Arabic-English which is also very good. I strongly recommend both of these while working towards being able to read and understand the Qur'an in Arabic.

As an Arab Muslim person, I believe that there is no translation capable of completely containing the meanings of the Qur’an or conveying the beauty of the language in it The Arabic language is unique and very rich. Imagine that the word “eye” or “sword,” for example, has dozens of words that express it, and each word has a different meaning and a different sound. Many people recommend the translation (Sahih International), which is the best translation available I am very happy with what you are doing, and I pray to God to help you and make your days happy in this world and in the hereafter

As an arabic speaking person I must say that reading the Quran in arabic is entirely different experience. For one to even try to grasp all of its aspects it must be read in arabic. Therefore I encourage you brother to learn arabic. As for the translations, personally I would prefer the one closest to the meaning (second book), because arabic words and sentence structure is nuanced and it changes drastically, but if you get the meaning right you've gotten a closer translation. Certainly there is a place for translations like the new book your showing here, for it to capture the flow and associated spirituality that comes with it. But again, arabic captures all of that and more.

I learn the Quran with Malay translation growing up. I have to say choosing the one to suit your comprehension is really important in motivating you to continue reading. The latest one sounds easier to understand imo. The first 3 ayat translation reminded me of the translation I'm used to. Reckoning is new, since I'm used to Judgement. And the last ayat has a nice clean feel to it. Alhamdulillah, thank you for your sharing.

Certainly nothing compares to the original Arabic Quran but the translation of the Quran can still speak to the hearts of non-Arab peoples whom Allah chooses to bring into Islam. This is why people like KD Books converted without understanding one word of Arabic. And the number of people like him are growing everyday Alhamdullillah. Likewise we have the opposite phenomenon of some Arabs who reject the message of the Quran and become atheists or converts to other religions. Their hearts remain blind to the guidance and light of the Quran even though they are native Arab speakers. My point - Allah guides whom He wills, whether or not they understand Arabic. Islam is a universal religion for all peoples and races.

It sounds as though the translator here attempted to make a more poetic English translation. So "verse translation" meaning verse by verse for clarity but also a translation "in verse", not quite rhyming necessarily but one that scans well and has some kind of meter. Very interesting, I may have to purchase a copy for myself. God's Peace (Salam), Mercy (Rahma) and Blessing (Barakah) be with you my dear brother. May Allah raise you in rank with Him and elevate your intentions and keep us all guided to the straight path. May He connect the hearts of the believers with our beloved Prophet, may the Reverential Praise (Salat) and Peace (Salam) of Allah be upon him and his people (Ahl) and his companions (sahaba) and those who follow in his way. Amin!

I would understand that some translators would do the archaic/poetic approach since Qur'an itself is basically a challenge to classical arabic poetry. It's good to experience the poetry theme as it is trying to get closer to how Qur'an originally presented in arabic. But Alhamdulillah, we also have other clearer and simpler options available.

Hi, I like your enthusiasim and I used to watch your channel way before this. Just a note from a native speaker (with good intention), the Quraan as a word in Arabic refers to the devine revelations to the prophet (PBUH) and does not have a plural. What we hold in our hands as a physical book, like the different prints in Arabic or in any other language is called a Mus-haf مصحف and it has a plural Masahef مصاحف because you can have many prints of them. Good luck with your journey, Salam.

I can clarify. Though I'm just a regular muslim. The Quran is the oral tradition. It was taught orally and is still preserved orally. The book is Mushaf, the written down of the Orally transmitted Quran. The translation is a translation. It is not the Quran. It is a translation of the Quran, the meanings of the Quran explained in English. All the English translations rely on the original mushaf, which is preserved. If ever in doubt, we return to the Arabic speakers who read the Quran in Arabic. So yes, a new translation is correct in speech.

I've The Clear Quran. I would say, if someone has like totally zero Arabic understanding to go with it. It's great, has got helpful footnotes & quite focusses more on the meaning than capturing the linguistic essence. For the linguistic essence, the best would be Saheeh International. I use it for most purposes. Plus it's the most widely accepted & appreciated one too! Needless to say, nothing comes close to the actual Arabic Quran, so make it your lifetime goal to learn Arabic to understand the Quran. I still, cannot believe how Allah azza wa jal allowed me to learn the Arabic language with such ease that I can mostly understand the Quran in such a short period of time, Alhamdulillah. If you would like to, I might share the resources I used to learn Arabic through English as a medium. Barakallahu feek.

When I saw @BloggingTheology read this translation I immediately thought of you lol, nice to see you actually give it a read. Also, the translation of the "Majestic" version doesn't actually seem that good because the words ar-rahmam and ar-raheem in Arabic are superlative terms for "merciful". They're calling Allah The MOST Merciful, The ESPECIALLY Merciful. I mean I'd like to think I am a kind and caring person, I'm sure you are a kind and caring man too Kieran, but nobody can ever be close to comparison with Allah in his mercy and kindness and I personally think a translation should at least try to faithfully put that idea through to the reader.

Actually the Clear Qur'ān does both clarity, simplicity, and goes heavy in the meaning, this is because the Qur'ān in Arabic is also clear and simple however has a very deep meaning. The intention was to do the same with this English translation; thus it is smoother to read and goes deep in meaning too. Overall, any Qur'ān translation is fine, the only difference is in the choosing of words, however the meaning stays the same most of the time. However I would still recommend the Clear Qur'ān.

Here in Indonesia, we have a book called "IQRA", a helping/tutor book to read arabic aim to read the Quran later. It comprise of 5 (or maybe 6, kinda forgot) chapter. Each chapter will raise the difficulties. At chapter 1, you only read per letter. Later at the ending, you'll start to read lika a full sentences. Defenitely you'll need a teacher to told you how to move your mouth, tounge, where the sounds came of and so on.

The Quran is considered the word of Allah and does not have a plural form, as it is the singular, true word of God. On the other hand, "Mushaf" in Arabic refers to the compiled pages where the Quran is written. So the correct term to say "translations" rather than "Qurans."

Love this channel and everything you put out as a muslim book lover, I would only suggest you boycott amazon for the support of palestine, thank you. May Allah bless us and keep us steadfast and free Palestine🇵🇸. Edit: (Of course the Majestic Quran as you likely understand is from right to left because arabic is written that way, and second the translation seems fine enough but not as accurate, at least in terms of the first chapter. Still good though.) (Note 2: Your newest copy of the Quran is very good honestly, as an arab speaking person, though you should look for notes separately of course. Its rythm does get closer to the original, especially how it is broken up, as it mimics the verses of the original well, though definitely nowhere near as powerful as the original, still much closer to other translations and very beautiful.) (Note 3: The Clear Quran is always great for me when I need to translate a word or get notes and to get context and understandings. The meaning is on point and the words in brackets always addd needed context that is easily extrapolated in arab but isn't outright said in a word in the verse. I recommend it for sure.)

I am your sister from Yemen, and by Allah I only spoke out of hunger and distress. My mother, my brothers, and I lessons and tears. We are in a situation that only God knows about. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs for those who brought us to this situation. By Allah Almighty, I did not write this appeal out of distress and distress. Poverty, O world, they have felt it So, I hope for you. By Allah Almighty, Lord of the Great Throne, he ate what I had in the house. By Allah, my brothers, he is my brothers by sitting in the house. Who has no food? By God, we are in a very difficult situation. We have 4 people entering the house, and my father has died, and there is no one who can depend on us and who lives in it.We live in a rented house because we cannot pay the rent we owe. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''' My brother, my first words are: I swear to God that I will not lie to you or deceive you. I am a Yemeni girl displaced from the war. My family and I live in a rented house in Al-Shahrab 20,000 Yemenis among us, and now we owe 60,000 for 3 months. The owner of the house is one of the people who does not have mercy, by God, my brother. He comes every day, insulting us, talking about us, and moving from the house to the street because we were unable to pay him the rent. The neighbors saw us crying and came back. They came back to talk to the neighbors and we were given the weekend. So we made him swear by God. He will take us out into the street. Have mercy on him and us. Our country is due to this war and we do not find food for our day, and my brothers and I live in a difficult life. Our father died, may God have mercy on him, and we have no one in this world who was with us in these harsh circumstances. My younger brothers went out into the street and saw...The neighbors eat and stand at their door in order to give them bread even if they break it. By God, to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, they closed the door and expelled them and came back crying. They are dying of hunger. No one has mercy on them and a holiday is returned. I have made a living, and now if one of us helps us with a kilo of flour, I swear to God, I am dying of hunger. My brother, I am an alien to God. Then, I ask you to help me for the sake of God. I ask you, by God, to love goodness and to help me, even if you can, by messaging me on WhatsApp.On this number 00967716649494 and ask for the name of my card and send it and do not be late and may God reward you with all the best, my brothers Sagar, see how they are and help us and save us before they throw us out in the street, you will be lost or we will die of hunger. My family and I ask you, by God, if you are able to help us, do not be late and may God reward you well..`/--~«««~~♡~♡~♡~~•~•~♡~♡~~♡~♡~♡~♡♡♡~~~: ~:~¡~¡~¡~;I.i.i.i.i.i. i.I.|-◖︻︻/،;'.:،;'.:،;'.:،;'.:،;'.:،;'.:،;'.:،;'.:،;'.:،;'.:،;'.
