Very nice! I swear 72% of my motivation for learning CW was to justify buying new radios. I've really been enjoying the QMX and I just recently added a MTR-4B to my collection. Hopefully someday I'll be able to add an Elecraft as well.

i have the TR45L skinny as well. It's now my go-to radio, I love it. I agree about the receiver, it's great. The side tone actually works in reverse. You turn it to the right to decrease the volume, and vice versa. Anyway, I enjoy your videos. John WA2OUZ

It’s such an awesome radio. I’m really glad I snagged one. Good to know! I only have issues during weak signals as I’ll crank the volume and RF gain all the way up and even with the side tone all the way down it can be a little too loud. But I think I’ll find the sweet spot with more activations!

Honestly i don't have much of an issue with the KH1 paddles, though there are other options that are worth trying out. I usually use the K6ARK pressure paddle with my KH1 but for more casual operation i use the one i designed (the KM4CFT one). Ara, N6ARA also has a paddle thats pretty good too.

Forrest, man you have my dream rigs. The only difference is that I really wanted the TR-35 vs the TR-45 Skinny, BUT WOW, what a set up. At this point in time I have an FT-891 (primary use is in the shack), Lab599 TX-500 and a QMX on the way. I really think my next rig will be that KH1. I love that thing after playing with it at Hamvention this year. Looking forward to seeing more videos on it. Thanks for the videos. They really are great content for us CW newbies! P.S. was admiring what looks like a Spyderco, I have a couple of them, and the one handed close and had to laugh about the knife safety comment...72

The Lab599 really catches my eye. I keep getting caught out in the rain and I don’t really have a setup currently that I’m comfortable with in the wet weather but I’ve heard the Lab599 is that rig. I’m excited to post some content with the KH1!

I'm patiently waiting for my KX2, I hope to have by the end of the summer. I got to use a K3S for many hours during field day and really came to appreciate the Elecraft quality.

I met a fellow CW Ham at field day and we sat together, handing his KX2 back and forth while we searched and pounced stations off of his dipole! It was a riot. He had the key that attaches to the bottom of the KX2. It’s an amazing rig and also surprisingly small! I could be wrong but I swear the KX2 speaker is 10x better than my KX3 speaker.
