I wanted a TCR since I was a little boy because of this older gentleman at my church had on and I looked up to him, but after I FINALLY got one for my 29th birthday, I found that I hardly ever used the stuff in the back. I still love it though because it’s the last thing that my grandma bought me before she passed away.

Very beautiful. I’ve got it in the NIV Premier and you’re right, Tim, the TCR is a unique Bible. One can really get lost in the chains!😅 Zondervan has done an excellent job with the design and comfort print. So much is in there but it’s so readable. 😊

I recently bought the new Thompson Bible in Portuguese, my mother tongue, I live in Brazil. The leaves are cream colored, large print. The Bible is beautiful but I didn't like the big print. I prefer medium font. This Bible in the video is more beautiful than the Thompson Bible sold here in Brazil. I will suggest the Brazilian publisher to make one like the English version.

Just got the leather soft Nkjv and am excited to use it. This video made me make my choice. One day I’ll get a premium Bible I’m considering the omega esv. I had a calfskin that I had gotten free from a conference and I drove off with it on my hood and I lost it. I’m kicking myself for that still two years later.

I am glad there are new editions to Thompson, I was disappointed in the premium edition that it did not come Large print / comfort print (making the font a 10.5) and no red letter. I would have bought it right away. I ended up going with the calfskin because it came with those two missing items. I do feel a little bit cheated somewhat because I could not get the goat skin. I am also disappointed it does not come with the the old English meanings in the KJV. Thank you Tim for the review it was really good. With me saying that. I do look forward to using it. I love the Thompson Chain Bible.

I love the idea of the TCR but I wish it wasn't so large. I'd love to find a Bible that has this great chain reference system, lots of study helps, and at LEAST a 9pt font that I could actually carry around with me. I don't mind if a Bible is small and chunky. ( if anyone is familiar with the LDS Regular Quad Scriptures...this is the size I'm looking for). I find that easier to carry and more appealing than large and floppy! Does something like this actually exist in any translation?
@kflow4491 Жыл бұрын
Have a look at Trinitarian Bible Society’s “Westminster Reference Bible”. The normal version is 9.6pt font size, 8.5” x 6”, calfskin, thousands of references (similar to the TCR) and is a good size for an everyday Bible you can carry around. Although much smaller than the TCR I don’t think it classifies as a small Bible but maybe more a small/medium one. There’s also a compact version which likely fits the small and chunky category with measurements at 6.5” x 4.6” with a 7.6pt font.

Having used a Thompson for years I was excited for this release because they were not the most durable bibles. I preordered one and although its a beautiful Bible I was disappointed to see the new pagination and the gigantic size. That means I’d have to relearn the pagination for efficient navigation while teaching and personally it’s too big/heavy for me to carry around. Also, they made a major mistake. It’s a black letter Bible but on the first page of the NT they say words of Jesus in red. I alerted them of the error and they stopped shipping them out.

Here is my letter to Zondervan to fix the typographical corrections needed in this Bible text ~ Dear John, I have found some typographical corrections needing to be made in the new Zondervan Thompson Chain Reference Bible, King James Version, the First Edition of the Premier Collection, which was published on November 1, 2022. I am assuming that the same corrections would be needed to the other formats of your KJV Thompson, since they all use the same pagination. I have placed the "corrected word" in quotation marks in its verse. ************************************************************** Old Testament ~ 1) Page 13 - Genesis 11:3 - The wrong spelling "Thoroughly" should be spelled "Throughly", without the first "o", to read: And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them "throughly". 2) Page 680 - Job 33:4 - There should be a capital "S" on "Spirit" to read: The "Spirit" of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. 3) Page 888 - Jeremiah 2:22 - It should be spelled "sope", not "soap", to read: For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much "sope", yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD. It seems contrary, to logic, but the King James Translators DID choose the spelling of "sope', not "soap", as did both the Oxford and the Cambridge standardized-spellings editions of 1769. 4) Page 932 - Jeremiah 34:16 - The word "he" in this verse should be "ye", to read: But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom "ye" had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids. 5) Page 979 - Ezekiel 11:1 - There should be a capital "S" on "Spirit" to read: Moreover the "Spirit" lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD's house, etc. 6) Page 1099 - Nahum 3:16 - It should be "flieth", not "fleeth", to read: Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and "flieth" away. New Testament ~ 7) Page 1171 - Matthew 4:1 - There should be a capital "S" on "Spirit", to read: Then was Jesus led up of the "Spirit" into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 8) Page 1304 - Acts 11:28 - There should be a lower case "s" on "spirit", instead of the incorrect capital "S", to read: And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the "spirit" that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar. 9) Page 1455 - 1 Peter 1:10 - It should be "inquired", not "enquired", to read: Of which salvation the prophets have "inquired" and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 10) Page 1469 - 1 John 5:8 - There should be a lower-case "s" on "spirit" to read: And there are three that bear witness in earth, the "spirit", and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. I hope these corrections can still be included in the next printing of the KJV Thompson Chain Reference Bible! If so, then your Bible will set the standard of excellency for accuracy in a modern King James Version of the Bible! Thank you for doing this! Blessings in Christ, Paul Grustans Bloomington, MN
