You did say on the first one, you were going to share purchase price ?

Harold Mabern walked from Brooklyn to Lincoln center in several feet of snow in a blizzard to make that Blue Mitchell date. Chick was snowed in, and Blue Mitchell called Mabes that morning.

Nuce score on the Jazz Message of Savoy. That is a Mobley record I only have a later pressing of.

Fun video. Appreciate the blind opens before knowing if you crushed it or it crushed you!

If I am going to be disappointed in the occasional bad online purchase experience most likely it is going to be an OG Blue Note with some kind of surface damage which the seller either did not notice/disclose or understated. Three times with three different sellers there was some kind of sticky substance, another was obvious groove wear with a talcum powder type substance in those worn grooves. Three of four sellers have significant positive feedback. Two of four I have made numerous purchases from. The defining characteristic is my poorly graded jazz used vinyl purchases are ALWAYS Blue Notes!

yea! what is it with that talcum powder stuff?? I've seen that before a number of times

If I keep watching these videos I'm sure one day I'll see the best vinyl album popping up. Grant Green Am I blue. Rare as hen's teeth on youtube jazz videos.

How can you tell it’s on recycled vinyl?
@jazzvinylcollector3 ай бұрын
@@daviewavie112 if you look close at the runout, there is a light texture to it, sometimes it appears as small bumps and other times it looks like there is a sort of glitter embedded in the vinyl. In the worst situations, it results in large pressing bubbles that appear in the grooves of the record

Would be interested to know how you can tell that a disc is made from recycled vinyl.

You can’t expect top quality service & records if you’re getting them “cheap”. I’m surprised you kept buying from them smh
@jazzvinylcollector2 ай бұрын
@@iselect1012 well it’s about finding the seller where you can. That’s the pursuit. In this case, I found that there have been enough successes where it can outweigh the inconsistency. But obviously it’s all about the price you pay. Many of these I can just resell and still come out ahead
@Zerodirt6663 ай бұрын
or you could buy the reissues of most of these albums, spend less money and get better quality sound and packaging but I suppose no one wants to see that.
