It's getting hard to deny the impact that McFarlane Toys is having on the hobby. Relatively low cost, high-value offerings with decent quality. I don't even collect McFarlane DC stuff (too big for me generally) but I own a few and like what I have. But these Avatar figures and mounts/vehicles... have my eyebrows raised.

The prices on those banshees are a freakin steal!! I happily paid retail and have never regretted it. I thought they were going to be around $150-200 when he announced at SDCC. They are freakin my all time favorite

I'm still amazed- even with the regular figures- that McFarlane can keep the price points so low. It sure keeps the hobby accessible for someone like me. And yes- it doesn't seem that the quality of materials or the sculpts are suffering for it. Glad you are enjoying them! Thanks for watching!

These figures are probably the best in terms of articulation it's the first figure from mcfarlane to have a bicep swivel and I love it the head sculps are fantastic on this line also I can't fault these figures at all

Great movie! Cool toys and video. BTW, you have the forearms of the AMP Suit in the wrong position, lol. You can rotate them and put them as seen on the back of the box and on the film. Greetings!

Mcfarlane kicked a field goal with these. I was a fan of the Mattel line when the movie first came out and those were nowhere near as good as these. Todd has a lot to be proud of with these and I will definitely be buying his Way of Water figures for the new film

I liked your intro about Avatar-haters. It's a definite case of 'tall poppy syndrome'. People resent it's immense success. I've heard haters say things like "It has no plot", which is just nonsense. I'm not an 'Avatard', but I am a fan of all of James Cameron's films, and I am excited for the new movie. It will get me back into the cinema for the first time since End Game. BTW, I've never knowingly listened to a Teylor Swiff song, but I hate her because because people are always gushing over her. So I guess I am a bit of a hypocrite.. 😉

@@alexholloway9847 I think people just focus on the familiar plot because it's arguably a relative weak point (not the plot itself, just the fact that it's been done before) and they can't fault Avatar for it's visuals, music, performances, which are all top notch. But how many times have we seen "Assassin who comes out of retirement for one last job", or "two people meet and hate each other, but fall in love by the end"? 99% of films reuse tried and true formulae that we've seen many times before. But that's because they are proven effective. In the case of Avatar, Cameron was not trying to make the next Citizen Kane. He wanted to create an experience. He wanted to build a living, breathing alien ecosystem, unlike anything seen on the bigscreen. He just needed a solid story arc to act as the foundation, and the "Soldier goes native" narrative was the perfect fit. Anybody who watches the film and ignores the emotion, spectacle and beauty because they're too busy nit-picking the plot is not the intended audience.

I think the Avatar movie was incredible, I think the figures are really cool as well, there are some things that are a little cheap about them but for the price u can't complain too much, I'm looking forward to the new movie coming out too

I never saw Avatar because there was too much hype at the time and Disney later had that cynical Pandora theme park. Part of the impulsive reaction to these toys is comparing them to the odd decisions in the original toyline. Which is not fair to mcfarlane I think it's just what fans want without a golfing businessman figure to be seen.

Avatar doesn’t have the best or most original plot, but it more than makes up for it with how great the CGI and the visuals are Hopefully the new film can keep up the same quality and not cheap out like most films now

We tried to, but if we had, the head would not have been able to articulate because of where the cut had to be placed. So the choice was made to articulate the head, rather than the jaw. The Skimwing for A2 has an articulated jaw though

We decided against including them because they would have been made of PVC, which can often warp and we didn't want to upset people with arrows that weren't straight. BUT we did include the hand pose for when the draw an arrow back to shoot. They are the hands with 2 fingers bent down. This line was so amazing to work on and the A2 figures are amazing

So far as I have been collecting- these things have limited production runs and they don't re-issue production as I have experienced (like a second printing on a book). There are many after-market options like Ebay where a collector or investor will sell a New-In-Box (NIB) collectible, but rarely or ever below initial retail price. I've bought many collectibles this way, like some Conan figures (I'm a huge fan) that initially retailed at $15 in 2008 but I paid over 10x that. Will that happen to these figures? Probably not because production runs are higher. But the AMP suit NIB in a few years will most likely be $20-$50 more than they are now if trends continue. Just my opinion.
