The blades are meant to skim the base plate - if they are silent you have set it up wrong. It is like the action of scissors

I should have watched this before assembling mine just now. I did everything the hard way apparently. What should be the proper tension on the rotating blades? How close are they supposed to be against the stationary blade?

Mine was not already assembled like this, the roller and side turn parts were separate! No idea and no proper instructions, (pictures only showed handle assembly) had to guess, not sure yet. Most bods can assemble the handle alone, its' the rest of it that matters! Not sure even how the grass carrier works but had to guess that too. Can you show how to assemble the roller on and the side metal/plastic parts if they come separate?

OK, I am not a hugely practical person but I can read instructions and follow them. The instructions were so vague! The holes for the handle were inaccurate and it took a lot of pushing and shoving. After having assembled it, I now am watching this and should have done so before, back to it and hope I get it to work.

The spare parts prices for this mower are ridiculously high. If you bought the parts seperately to build a new mower it would cost you getting on for £200.
