Any negative comments you get come from people who place cameras 2 stories high, wanting to then post how they got robbed on FB. I just want their face for 1 second.

I have installed many of these Dahua cameras throughout western PA. EZ set up. If you use them outside you must use the plastic connector with the foam piece that goes over the cat45 connector. If you don't use the plastic connector, you may fry the camera when it gets wet. I am going to purchase more.

Why do so many reviews do still image / still image with text testing. The critical thing for CCTV systems is how well it captures moving images. A person who is doing something illegal is not going to stand still and smile at the camera..... Is this camera a GENUINE Dahua? OEM Dahua do not support Firmware Updates and often Chinese ones come with firmware that talks to Chinese Servers, even in todays market. This model is still available, but usually genuine Dahua is more expensive than the AlliExpress ones. I know this video is older, but the above questions are relevant for now :)

While this camera offers good quality image during day where you have enough sunlight, at night it is different story. It can go maximum of 15meters at night and that's it. Good for front door or small areas at night because it has weak IR. During day it is quite good and you can go with atleast 2-3 IVS rules and MD.

the audio setting on the NVR was left to default. My old NVR doesn't have audio settings other than on/off.

Tnx for the reply, i have discoverd what the problem was, i was watching recorded footage via de laptop (WiFi-connection) then i tried it via the Cat6 cable and the sound footage was much better, again tnx for the fast reply!

At the beginning of the video you say that it is a 2.8mm camera, but on the box your opening it shows 3.6mm. So in saying this which one is it? did you get it wrong? I would like to know. thank you

you can get the unit in either 3.6 or 2.8. I read the specs saying 2.8 but the unit i tested was 3.6. My mistake.

i used the basic 16 channel NVR. Dahua 16 channel. The camera also works on the 8channel NVR.

Awesome, is that zoom in software built-in to your dahua nvr?

I'm using this NVR : NVR2104HS-P-S2 (only 90 euro!!), it works like a charm and if you do not need more then 4 camera's it is cheaper ;-). The zoom in can be done with SmartPSS, that is the software which you can download from this site: dahuawiki.com/Template:SmartPSS On that website you can get much more info on all things, good luck.

I see that the video was quite jittery especially when the car and the truck were driving past, also 20 frames per minute is a little low for my liking. That's probably why it was jittery.

The camera is not on the same ip subnet as the computer you are using to access the camera. Change the ip of the computer to the same subnet as the camera, then try and access it

You most likely have something reflecting the light back towards the camera.

Hi Mate if you pause the video at14.45 while the guy is just starting to walk away he could be anybody.Your camera has got a lot of motion blur. You need to tweak the settings a bit better and use a higher shutter speed .On a hikvision 2mp hd turbo you can get a crystal clear still of a car driving across the image at 60kph

The max frame rate is 20fps. You cannot "tweak the settings a bit better" that's not how any of this works. If he was using a low bit rate then maybe but he is not. To have that resolution at a higher fps would drastically raise the cost of camera and require a currently an absurd amount of bandwidth and storage.
