LaserPecker has released their latest portable laser, the LP5, which has a dual 20w blue diode and 20w IR fiber laser in a galvo style head. This laser looks to be great at portable engraving as well as some cutting of many materials! Thank you for the video. I was looking at the xtool f1 ultra as well. The xtool had a slight 2mm accuracy issue. What kind of tolerance does this one have? To me, circles within circles should always be spot on, because you can tell straight away when it is even off slightly. I am hoping in a year or two, they come out with a 40+40, or 20+60, diode+fiber option. That is when these can become one stop solutions for most materials for most people. I assume there is no auto focus on this? I assume this uses light burn for the software side?

The 2mm accuracy issue is from using the camera on the F1 Ultra. If you use normal framing it should be spot on. The LP5 base unit does not have a camera so you have to frame it using the tools in the software but then it's accurate. There is an additional enclosure for the LP5 that I believe I may get next month and then we'll see how accurate it is. As for software this uses the LaserPecker design space software but is also Lightburn compatible. I'm just waiting on the device profile from the company to test it with Lightburn.

Really curious about how thick the metal cuts can be? I do sublimation keychains, magnets and pin and have to use a cutter. I do basically 2x3”max and 1x1” minimum. I don’t know the depth right now but are like a heavier business card.

I'll try to do some playing with a few different metals and thicknesses. I don't think it would be fast enough for anything over the thickness of these business cards. But possible if you have the right set up and time.

Initially, I get the impression that its slower with less space than the XTool F1 Ultra

I need to work more with it as some of my tests were a bit conservative on power and speeds. It's working area is smaller than the F1 Ultra, but the LP5 is far more portable. So it could be a trade off. More to come as I do more testing!

Can you use the laser without the conical protection cover? Or it doesn’t work without it?

Yes you can use it without the conical protector, but it will throw a warning and reminder on the mobile app to wear glasses and install the cover.
