Today we unbox and provide some initial thoughts on the NOCO GB70 Booster Pack; this is a 12V, 2000A, 56Wh unit with both 12V and 5V inputs and outputs, a powerful 400-lumen flashlight with various modes and its encapsulated in an IP65 enclosure.

Really helpful. I bought one two days before seeing this video and you've explained nicely the accessories end, so thanks.

I chose the GB70 over the GBX75 because the GB70 has a 12V 15A output 5mm jack, while the GBX75 only has a USB output at 5V. There is an AC charge adaptor as an optional upgrade that charges at 53 watts. The manual is only thick because it covers SO MANY languages. I tore out the English section and back cover and taped them together to make a nice compact manual. The hard case has 2 problems that made it impractical for its price, the zippered cover is hinged near the handle and opens from the bottom. This wouldn't be much of a problem if the inside pockets had zipper closures, BUT the pockets are open and face down when carrying, spilling the contents.

I bought my GB70 about a year ago. I’ve boosted vehicles for friends, neighbours, and strangers (not my own vehicles - yet), some small inline 4’s and a few big (gasoline) V8’s and have found this unit to be super useful. I laughed (sorry) when your wall wart charger fell out of the pocket, as I was thinking - that’s gunna fall… I bought a Nanuk case for my GB70, as I pack a small inverter along with it - great fit. I believe NOCO purposely omitted the charging transformer for warranty purposes, and that you’d be well advised to either purchase ‘their’ transformer (expensive), or one that matches their specs. Perhaps in their research they’ve found using an AC charge to be less than reliable over time. I’m hoping the GB70 gives me many years of years of service. Between it, my portable air compressor, and good vehicle maintenance, I’ve opted to cancel my CAA membership, as it’s renewable over the phone anyhow… Good video! Thank you.

I bought the GB70 and a carrying case for it several years ago after reading all the reviews and doing a lot of research. I live in a state where the snow is deep and the temps plummet at night. Unless you can plug your car in at night, it can be difficult to start it in the morning, even for batteries with the highest CCA. The GB70 has never failed me and will take on more than I could ever put it thru. It's the best purchase you will ever make. It's very portable and easy to use, not to mention safer to use as well should you ever hook up the clamps to the wrong terminals. I can do quite a number of jumps with it and it would still show a full charge. I didn't use it for a full year one time and when I checked it to see if I needed to charge it, it still had a full charge. I used to haul around one of those huge, heavy, lead acid battery ones that were a pain in the ass. You had to constantly keep recharging them after one or two jumps or check them for a full charge before you could use them if you let them set for longer than a couple of weeks. Plus their life expectancy was short lived after recharging them so many times. I love the GB70 and will buy another one when it comes time to. When that will be, I honestly can't say. It is still performing just as strong as the day I received it several years ago.

Bought the GB40 a couple years back. Holds charge very well. However, I've had three occasions to use it and it's 0/3 for boosting any of the three vehicles. Hope you have better luck with the 70.

Yikes, that's not good to hear. A friend of mine has the same GB40 and he's had good luck with it, I'd look to return or exchange your unit.

I left this in my truck since I bought it and charged it initially, I took it out the other day and it's still showing a full charge. I plugged it in any way and it took a charge for ~20 minutes and was topped up.

My power stroke 6.0 diesel uses two batteries in parallel to start the big engine and have to give credit to the Noco GB 70 that it started it after it was dead for three weeks in the winter time. I do wish they had the standard USB-C connection is seven micro USB as well.
