Unboxing and Installing DMR Axe Cranks

Unfortunately, my old Sram NX Eagle crankset pedal thread stripped, so I ordered these DMR Axe LE cranks as a replacement. They look and feel great, and match my Octane One Zircus beautifully!

Cool video. I’ve just ordered these cranks. Do you know if i need the dmr axe bottom bracket or will a hope bb work as well Cheers

Thank you! Yes, you need the Praxis DMR bottom bracket, due to the axle being different diameter at each end. Unfortunately its the only bottom bracket that will work. Brilliant cranks tho, have held up to abusive riding, 10 stair gaps to flat, many cases, list goes on.

Hi iv tried putting a set of these on my slope bike bit there something wrong ,did you use and BB spacers asy axle seems to be too long when I don't use any .many thanks Matt

Did you use the wavy spacer? If u did and it still is too long, you may have purchased the dh version of these. Sorry i didn't see ur comment sooner.

hey, just wanted to ask how is the praxis bottom bracket going cuz i heard some bad stuff about it. A lot of people said it starts creaking fast so im just interested how's it going

I no longer run these cranks, but i did for around 10 months. I didn't change the bb in this period, tho it did start creaking quite quickly, it got really bad so i serviced it and that got rid of the majority of the noise, but as bb go, its not the greatest.

Does blackspire chainring compatible to this Dmr crank??

If you buy the sram version of the chainring then yes.

I am still learning. So is the bb any good? (Street/Dirt jump) If not is it pretty easy just to switch em out. I like this look of crank arms.

The bottom bracket is okay. It feels good like any other bottom bracket at its price would, but doesn't last too long, however u maintain it or service it every once in a while that'll give it more life. I used it for around 10 months, it creaked alot for a while, but i serviced it and most the of creaking stopped. It is easy to change out, having said that, u need a bb tool specific to praxxis bb to remove it.

@@Doggmatic_ it is a bit. I don't actually run these anymore, I now run odyssey thunderbolt cranks ( bmx cranks) and i love them. Bottom bracket situation isnt much better, tho i believe this is down to the smaller bearings, as i have a 22mm spindle, most other bmx cranks only have 19 so the bb bearings will be bigger so possibly more durable. the bb is cheaper so im less bothered. If bmx cranks aren't an option then id go for race face atlas cranks, as they're not too chunky like srams offering.

@@joepackham9487 yeah I seen those around as well along with the aeffect. I was also looking at primos as far as bmx cranks go but Idk if I want to go that route. Might want to keep it mtb
