Are you kidding? We never will get tired of your unboxing vids!!! They are very informative and who doesn't like to unbox?? I am so on the fence about my fav fish tho. My goldfish Goldy already stole my heart. But albino cories are also amazing. They are so much easier too. I wish I didnt get into goldfish and kept betta instead. She just keeps on growing and I am looking for a nice place to start digging a pond lol.

did you save the water from the pot to put into tanks later. its full of the best tannins now. that's how I do my big tank. boil cones then cool it then add all that in after a water change. instant black water. I keep Blackwater 125 gallon for my black ghost knifes colony... which is my favorite fish to keep
@JillsFishRoom3 жыл бұрын
Heyy Jason 🐛! I was actually contemplating so hard on whether or not to keep it... Now I'm definitely thinking I should have 😢 When I saw all of the tannins that I boiled out of my alder cones, I was like 'nooooooooo..... '. I guess theres always next time, lol. A colony of ghost knife fish!? I thought they didnt like their own species. That sounds so cool 😲
@jasongonzales55633 жыл бұрын
@@JillsFishRoom yeah most definitley should of kept it. can also get a big mason jar and put your whole bag of cones in it and just let it sit and when you need more tannins just dump a bit in. that's how I usually do it unless it's a big water change that takes all my tannins then I boil and cool and add immediately. as for the BGK it is finniky and I read tons of literature on it before even attempting. and in what I read it was always different from one source to the next one source would say only one then another would say 2. then I found an article way back on keeping a group. it claimed keeping 3 is bad and need at least 5. if you keep 3 it claimed the 2 more dominant would just kill the 3rd but if you had 5 then a hierarchy would form for 5 or more. so I went above that and I got 11. added about 3 at a time a couple weeks apart. I now have 10 (the weakest link did get killed) but I have 10 living quite well together. we have one obvious alpha and 2 or 3 that seem to be just under him and can swim with him or in his corner then the others all stay in a group too. it's very cool to watch. but it is 125 gallons and tons of hiding spots etc. I tried to send you a video to react to and it was too large to send. then i tried to send just a pic of how it's set up and it said the email was invalid so I gave up lol. ide love to somehow get the video to you for you to see. it's a masterpiece to me lol.
@JillsFishRoom3 жыл бұрын
@@jasongonzales5563 Wow! I'm so blown away by all this info. Having 11 ghost knife fish sounds incredible, and I love it when a group creates their own hierarchy! 😍 If I ever try it out, I'll be sure to contact you for questions, and read a ton lol. Thanks a lot 😊

@@JillsFishRoom oh no 😭 What I do is boil in large pot for 30 mins then add to a jug only adding the water to the tanks small amounts two three times a week and adding additional boiling hot water to the jug and letting it sit until I need again Only when the jug water is really pale so I add the leaves or cones to the tank and start fresh jugs Hope this helps you Jill Don’t worry I did this to only first attempt But from now I google or KZbin anything I’m unsure of
