Just aquired me a 3D printed 1:1 scale pit droid brother. Love it. Now i gotta paint it accurate to the mandolorian pit droid and probably gonna buy that set of droids from hot toys as a reference. Great review.

Great review! Now, I'm really eager to have mine arrive. R5-D4 is one of my favorite droid designs in all of Star Wars. I've been looking forward to this set because all three droids are cool and will go great with other characters. I'll probably be one of those rare collectors that buys the clean version of R5 if they actually release him, too. I guess that there's a Legends version of R5's story where R2-D2 sabotages R5 to malfunction and a cannon version where R5 wakes up to find R2 sabotaging him, and R2 stops after explaining his mission to him. Later, R5 blows his own motivator to help R2 complete his mission. I kinda like the cannon version because it makes R5 out to be heroic. PS: I'm hoping that Hot Toys releases all three Pit Droid decos as a three pack, too.

Two thumbs up (well one because 2 don't work on YT) for droids and creatures. The mountains of money JC/HT could make considering these SW anniversaries by doing those would be staggering. Even just for Jedi alone. We got so few figs. Palace aliens and droids world be the coolest. Leia Boushh too! And yeah want a Pit Droid 3 pack for sure as well.

In the comics R5-D4 was known as "Skippy the Jedi Droid" who purposely blew his motivator to prevent splitting up R2-D2 and C-3PO. As he knew how important they were to the Resistance!

I got mine on wednesday. I love R5 but the lack of opening panels is not good. I have the Sideshow R5 and I think its better then this one, as I can use R2's arms to pose him more. The other droids are col though

I bought two of these sets because I wanted more pit droids. Three would be nice really. Got a good deal on the second set otherwise I wouldn't have paid full price, and I'll probably sell one of the R5s individually to make some money back.

I think the lore is that R5-D4 sacrificed himself so that Luke would take R2-D2 and get the important massage hidden in R2. Also I have a question about the other pit droids you showed in the vid, how far off the size of a black series pit droid is this? Thanks and keep bringing us those cool looks into these figures.

Thanks for comparing the pit droid next to the Hasbro version, I was curious to see that. The pit droids really should have been released in their own 3 pack, but the way it's been done is such a HT thing to do. I'll have to pass as it's too much hassle to run down a trio of them.

Legit question. Why would anyone in the states order from Pop Collectibles when their prices are through the roof and way more expensive than Sideshow? I just clicked the link and browsed the site and was like WTF!? 🥴 HARD PASS.
