Unboxing and Review: TLB Mallorca new Shell Cordovan collection!

Super excited about TLB Mallorca introducing a new Shell Cordovan collection. They make some of the best bang for buck mid tier shoes already and adding this more rare material really takes them to the next level with quality on par with brands costing hundreds more. I really appreciate it. I have a chocolate brown shell AE strand that I love but they took quite a bit of work to shine up. These were just effortless.

@@cuauhtemocbolanos6100 To me yes. Carmina costs more and has less refined construction and details. Carmina does use Horween shell which many claim to be the best but I haven't found any real difference between the shell tanneries.

Thanks man! It's been too long. I had to get a new computer and internet setup. My old one was so slow that the edits and uploads took hours and hours. It's much improved now so I'll try to stay with a weekly schedule. So many videos recorded that need to be put together.

Are you sure its safe to use Saphir renovatour? They have a dedicated cordovan cream i thought was supposed to be the only one for cordovan

Renovateur is fairly common to use on shell cordovan. Saphir has tinted cordovan creams but not sure they have it in navy blue plus they are pigmented and could alter the color. I use renovateur, venetian shoe cream and pure polish conditioner which are all neutral and work well on all shell cordovan with no issues.

Why are you using care products meant for full grain leather on cordovan, which has no pores?

Did the products work? Did I get the desired outcome? Yes. There aren't too many products made specifically for shell cordovan and some of the general leather care products work well on it. Not all, but some. I think I demonstrated that 👍.

@@mbshoedoc did cordovan, seeing as it has no pores, absorb all the goodies that renovateur has? Nope. Did it get some shine from it? Sure, but that’s not why you use the product. Does cordovan need renovateur? Nope.

@@blubaless Venetian shoe cream, Saphir renovateur and pure polish conditioner are all used on shell by many shoe enthusiasts. None of those products were created specifically for shell but many people find they produce desired results. The pores make no difference as far as I can tell. The pores do come into play when using the hard waxes. They have nothing to to with absorbing renovateur fully or not. Feel free to enjoy your shell completely product free right out of the box as many people do. I like to get a little shine going first. If you have a specific product in mind that you recommend I would be happy to try it. My feeling is that there is no right or wrong here.
