Thanks for sharing. I just picked up one and I learned a lot from your video. It's a great crawler for the price and just seems so versatile. The only thing I thought was lacking was better tires that could hook up in soft dirt but really I think it does a great job crawling over boulders.

ive gotten my Redcat completely submerged in water, motor churning and all. The radio receiver is the only thing that needs more waterproofing but if you use something like liquid electrical tape and coat the receiver its fine! The stock battery last about 25min in this crawler, yes it uses alot less power than short course truck due to the fact most of the time your driving at walking speed or slower on a 35t motor... I sell out of these almost every week and cant say enough about them..Even my customers with competition rigs buy them for a beater truck or for their kids to start with. And when you think a new axail is about $400 and this is $135 brand new 😀. I just finished my personal everest-10 and for under $250 I bought a new jeep body,paint,gmade 1.9rims and proline swampers...i sometimes wonder why everyone doesnt have one! BTW nothing has broken yet after 3 months of hard trail crawling, even tried to break it by getting stuck and just gassin it..it just does work.

Scotty's Hobby I have three SCX10's and a Wraith, and I ordered an Everest 10 earlier today. I happened to have a set of purple aluminum 120mm shocks, which I had bought last month, with the intention of using on a future SMT10 Grave Digger. The high cost of the Grave Digger dissuaded me, however, and since I don't have a truck that could take such long shocks, I decided to get the E10. I've been reading many similar reviews about the decent quality and considerable potential the Everest has, so now I'm really looking forward to getting one. This is going to be my Christmas gift, though, so I've got six and a half weeks to go. 😬

i picked one up a few days ago and changed the tires and kinda went nuts doing cheap or free upgrades. i like to play a game when the group goes out = if you cant follow the redcat you lose $5. i have won some money on that bet before they all stoped playing

Well that looks like a really cool Truck for when you don't want to run your $700.00+ Modded Wraith! It seems good enough, and a lot of fun.

I had the Everest 16. It was a fun little truck. I modified it to high heaven...

decent crawler can't beat the price. Throw some scx10 rails on there and compete with the axial guys. I had a similar truck the maxstone10 from exceed and I can attest to axial parts fitting. I had wraith axles under mine.

buy 1.. it outlasted my gen7 pro.. lol buy spur gears & if drive in snow&water.. replace servo.. o ring failure.. in pro.. but if serious about building .. you'd be going over & cleaning after use anyways. still runs today.. minus spur gear needs replacing now & drive shafts need to be upgraded.. 4yrs later

what's the average runtime on a 2000 nimh battery on a crawler? I have roughly the same battery on a short course truck that came default and that's good for only about 10 minutes. Had to upgrade to lipo pretty quickly for longer run times. Are crawlers any different as far as power consumption?
@chasehickman97748 жыл бұрын
where do I get decent bodies for a cheap price I just bought this truck it's my first time ever buying one and I don't have a clue what kind of bodies to get for it will normal 1/10 scale work
@rcreviews98948 жыл бұрын
cool video im on the fence with this one I don't know much about crawlers im more into monster trucks but I want to try my luck with a crawler which truck is better the everest 10 or the rockslide ? and how does the everest hold up? any issues that might be a downside to the everest?
@rcdabbler8 жыл бұрын
Ben Pyka For starting out with crawling, coming from a basher perspective, I'd recommend the Everest, because it can be upgraded with Axial SCX10 parts & hop-ups, which will make it more capable of handling stronger motors, higher gearing, higher voltage, etc. The Rockslide is pure crawler, so you'll be restricted to slow speed. Plus, you can add 4WS to the Everest, if you want more crawl performance.

Got any experience between this and the Exceed Maxstone 10? They appear to be much the same with subtle differences. Thanks for the review. This seems like a solid purchase for a noob to this hobby.

You can’t put a lipo on a brushed motor. Btw what battery connectors or on that? Ty good vid
@missinnissin2915 жыл бұрын
Actually you can all it does is give you better power and longer life than a nimh battery actually buy a redcat e10 or gen7 or gen8 and read the instructions theres two prongs on the esc one is for drag brake and one is for battery type you just move a jumper for lipo been running lipo in my gen 7 for a while now nothing wrong with it performs just fine just faster than it was before

I think Redcat makes great trucks for the money, however I don't get why many want a "crawler" truck. I mean, is it really that exciting watching it crawl over things at a slow speed? I would much rather have a regular, fast monster truck or short course truck.

Hi, I wanted to get this truck for my kid as a Christmas gift. What is the difference between the lippo battery and the battery it comes with?
@johnnymoran11777 жыл бұрын
IMO you dont need a lipo to enjoy this truck. Mine does just fine on the factory battery. Its not a speed demon, but it will climb like crazy.
@2828play7 жыл бұрын
Johnny Moran thank you...this helps because I just ordered a second battery for the truck a few days ago and it was not one of the lippo batteries but a 5000 NiMH. The Redcat crawler comes with one 2000 NiMH battery and I know that won't be enough when my other boy wants to get his turn lol.
@johnnymoran11777 жыл бұрын
Glad I could help. You should be fine with the 5000, but you know kids will play with it till it runs out no matter how big the battery... Haha.

hi im first timer into all this and basicallly im just looking for a rc that i can run any where over just about what ever without sinking a whole alota cash into it and i want something that is durable and half way fast and at the same time dont get stuck in tal wet grass and im wondering if you had any ideas to help me out thanks
@JoelTGM7 жыл бұрын
Captin Krunch seems like a good choice to me. if you ignore brand names and shit and just look at what stock crawlers have to offer... it's all a bunch of cheap plastics and basic components that everyone upgrades anyway. this thing is pretty decent out of the box. you'll need better softer tires though and I'd recommend softer springs or lighter shock oil. I already have a nice axial wraith but this thing is lighter, easier to work on, more axle articulation, and a lot of parts are interchangeable with axial.

def worth buyin despite cheap screws that strip first day.. well i have blackout, should have bought this in 2015 instead but buy upgrades, if poor, invest in certain breakables, you know typical wear & what breaks first. not sure of crawlers, i used to race since 1985, AE.. losi.. even a cheap almost indestructable niko rhino. . lol & it beat stock & light mod class. lol oh, & careful with plug wires, nica charger not braided wire & broke off at solder on charger

I would guess 7 miles an hour due to the electronics. It seems the same as the Redcat Gen 8 , it may have different gears tho. But the gen 8 tops out at about 7. Which is faster than you walk on trails making it perfect for the trails and crawling
