Oh what a great video! Thank you so much Ange. You are brilliant to share your first time using the blending board…It was such fun seeing them take shape and I loved the colours you chose. It was interesting watching you brush the fibres down - they seemed to be like a water colour painting! I would definitely like to see more blending adventures. I’ve only tried it once on my hand cards and it was so hard but fun! I think that grip mat will be perfect - I use strips of it under my loom to stop it sliding. The Rolags spun up beautifully and the resulting yarns are gorgeous. Can’t wait to the see the gnome! Thank you for sharing this.🙏😊
@YarnNYarns3 жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve heard some people refer to loading up the board as ‘painting the board’ with fibre, it definitely feels like something that could be as creative as you want to make it. The grip mat has made such a big difference so I’ll definitely chat about that and some of the other things that I’ve already learned from a few more attempts next time I make a blending video 😃

That was fun to watch! I am not a spinner yet, but I have been drawn to spinning videos more and more over the past year. Watching the different things you can do with fiber is very tempting. I love the pops of orange in your second set of rolags!

I am no pro at making rolags but I think the clue is to load less fiber on the board, try to pull the fibers consistently 1/4 at a time and then be very gentle sliding them of the sticks not to disturb the rolag. The goal is tight and neat. I took a class and that was really helpful! Thanks for fun videos 👍

Of course we want to see more videos, love the colours, I hand made mine after I bought the carding cloth from etsy, I didn't use it for more than 6 months ! What I do : load less fiber on the board, brush (with carding brush) after each layer, and make 4 rolag each time, and I do my rolag by sitting on the floor and my board is flat. I wish one day will be rolag advent colander. ( that would be really fun) , thank you sooo much Angela ❤🧶
