I think she is very pretty. I love the brocade-like fabric, but yea velcro? I don't buy the 12 days of Christmas, kind of out of my budget, so I take a vintage thrifted doll and make her a magic outfit. Thats kind of my thing anyway, saving dolls. But lucky you to have three gorgeous Christmas dolls! Love your collection so much. Thanks ever so much for sharing!!!

I haven't opened mine up yet, but I agree with you it is definitely not worth $160. I fell in love with the doll-to me she resembles Grace Kelly or Lana Turner, so SOLD! LOL With that said I think a few more trinkets could have been added; let's face it, they aren't losing money by throwing in a few more, they're massed produced in China no doubt! I do like her outfits and accessories but the 2nd dress should not have a velcro fastening. It should definitely be snaps or a zip, as you said. Clearly, quality control were asleep at the wheel with the two No.7 boxes, which is a pity. She is beautiful, though

I have not purchased any of these because of the price point, but I would be really mad if after paying such a high cost my outfits came with velcro. If Mattel is going to make them look classic, they should extend the quality to the last detail and for me that means snaps on the clothes. They are cute though!

I got mine. I totally agree with your assessment. Stand for day 2 is disappointing and a total cop out. WTH is right about two 7 drawers. I would be on the phone SO fast. Gorgeous make up and hair. The rest is just meh. You echo my opinion for next year….will I get her, yes. Will I gripe about the cost and drawer 2, yes. However, I am hoping for a Mod Barbie in a mini with an aluminum Christmas tree and lucite grapes and fondue pot. I vote year 2. She is beautiful and her “Dahling, I am your Auntie Barbie” outfit is stunning. Love that green. I displayed her with my Thanksgiving decor. Happy Holidays!

‘Two number 7’s - WTH?’ 😆 Someone got up to some Elf mischief at the Mattel factory! 😆 Best you try and track down the person with 2 number 3 drawers and do a swap! At least you didn’t get 2 number 7 accessories too! The doll’s hair style is very similar to Mad Men’s Betty Draper Barbie. Velcro should only be reserved for play line! The price in Australia, given current conversion rates and cost of shipping would be way beyond my humble budget! Happy Holidays!

Also the dress has velcro on the back of the dress, I think if Mattel is going to charge that much money, they should absolutely pay attention to detail, thats a lot of money for anyone to spend , I would expect perfection.

I bought last year’s 12 Days set (it was $150) and don’t regret it, but haven’t bought this one because the box and some of the accessories are basically the same. Wish they sold the doll separately…🤷🏾‍♂ (BTW: getting two 7 drawers is ridiculous! Did you send the set back to Mattel?)

I think my favourite is still the first one, mainly because she has my colouring, including green eyes. I was recently able to get the 2nd one at a good price, and I'm just debating if I should sell her and use the money to buy the first one. I really love that green outfit, though, and I feel like it and the AA Barbie with this mold are more rare occurrences. If the dolls were Silkstone, they would be worth it, but I don't really feel like they are otherwise. So, I don't plan to have more than one set. I somehow thought this was it for the series, but I don't think it's been announced one way or the other.

Yeah, I’d guess that down the line the AA Barbie and outfit would hold more value. She’s really beautiful and adds more variety to a collection of early vintage style Barbies. But yeah, a silkstone would’ve been nice. That black magic silkstone was $75 by comparison, so if the main thing a consumer is after here is the doll, these sets can be hard to justify purchasing. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I just started collecting last year. I HAD to have the first one because I love Christmas and Advent Calendars. So, because I was late to the party I paid EBay markup for the first one. (ow) I share that because it played into my decision to buy this year's girl. I love the color scheme and her pretty blonde hair/look. Like you, I think little things like making the stand a day gift & using velcro on the fashions diminish the perceived value. I don't think she's worth the $160. I definitely wouldn't get her at EBay price, having seen her in person. Mine just came a few days ago. I prefer the 2022 set, but am glad to have a brunette and a blonde now. Also, one of these for display in each of my Barbie curio cabinets. RE the 2024, I would've been happier with her at $100-120. I don't know what I'll do about future dolls in the series. If they go up in price, I'll be less likely to buy them. I love the quality of the original vintage fashions. Who knew a good zipper would become such an exciting thing to me? ;) Thank you for the video. You are one of my faves. (You should reach out to Mattel and ask for a #3 box replacement. Worst they can say is no or nothing.)

Yeah, it sucks when there’s something out there you really do like and enjoy having in your collection, but is just priced beyond its value. I’m sure if the tag was closer to $100, it would’ve sold out very quickly. But with tax and shipping, these cost around the same as an integrity toys doll, and the quality just doesn’t equal those. And you’re right. I should get a new box. ❤️❤️

What the hell with the two number 7s?!!! I got her because she gives me Betty Draper vibes and I want to display her with my Don Draper doll. As far as the accessories I love the tray, the gingerbread cookies and plate and the drinks. I could do without the rest. I don’t like the velcro on the dress either, especially with that fabric. It will snag if you aren’t super careful.

In actuality they are not worth the $160 you’re paying for a super high quality box for it to come in. However have I gotten all of them including the Easter one because the face sculpt absolutely!!! I missed the AA and I would have loved her and this one. I don't like the price point as it's the same as a Silkstone and near to an Integrity doll price where the quality is A1. The accessories are cute but sure you could get some 1/6 items that would be similar. The dresses are just so so and jewellery looks cheap. The doll is pretty. You talking about buying next year made me laugh. I am collecting past Silkstones. I recently got the teacher and I am buing others that I see at good prices. The new Silkstones are also blah.

First, thank you for just showing all the teensy cheapo plastic “accessories” in one group without making a big production out of opening each drawer. If you’ve seen the first two dolls in this series, you know the drill with the repeats lol. And considering that Mattel doesn’t even care about putting the correct numbers on the drawers for the big countdown which is the whole point of this overpriced set, I’m just surprised the number 2 drawers didn’t both contain the same item. I do think the doll is pretty and I like that they use the retro faces for these advent calendar collections but to me the classy looking dolls, the originals of which were of such superior quality, are cheapened further by the superfluous plastic paraphernalia. I’d rather have clothing items. Anyway, I really enjoy your channel and would be happy to see more unboxing if you felt inclined to do more.

She's a beautiful doll (although I like the previous editions more - I don't like this one's hair-do, even though it looks well done - it just makes her look so hoity toity) and I do like her outfits and some of the accessories, but I would never pay that much for her. Yikes. Give me the various holiday "grocery store special" Barbies I used to collect in the mid-90's instead! And it infuriates me that a company that is capable of producing a doll and accessories like this (which IMO still are nowhere near the quality of Mattel's Barbie clothes and accessories in the '60's,) has the utter gall to also foist off Barbies "wearing" molded-on/painted-on "clothes" on Barbie fans. Unless you're willing to pay a fortune, Mattel will put little to no effort into its non-special editions. It's such an insult! Also, even those the accessories in this collection are cute and do look nice, I know that when I was a kid I would not have been much interested in anything but the gingerbread cookies on the tray, LOL. (I know there are nutcracker collectors out there, so this set might really appeal to them, but nutcrackers have never appealed to me at all.) I also would have been livid over the two number 7's. WTF?!?! The packaging should have been perfect. And absolutely the stand should not take up a "day." It's like Mattel really just can't help itself, it's got to really cheap out SOMEWHERE even in the most luxurious sets. Anyway, thanks for letting me rant! I really enjoyed your critique and I'm really glad I did get to see such a detailed look at this doll.

I only collect Barbies with red hair so I didn’t get this one. Although I do think she is glorious. I think the price point is high but if you collect Barbies, maybe she is totally worth it. Small price to pay for happiness. 😊 Happy Holidays!
