This is the 5th tile project we've done where we've removed the old tile before installing new tile, and the first one with this tool kzbin.infoUgkxqqoaX03nrziKwF7Bjjcc71YzLEleMvOS . I want to cry for all the unnecessary work we've done in the past. With this tool, we removed tile surrounding a fireplace, as well as the hearth tile, set in loads of cement, in less than an hour. I highly recommend this tool. It was easy to use, and very satisfying watching the tile literally fall off the wall.

I just ordered the US version (GSB18V-490B12) on Amazon for $149 and couldn't be happier. This hammer drill is replacing a brushed GSB-180Li which was my first Bosch tool. I also have a GDX-180 impact driver that has served me very well. Bosch makes great tools and they've got my business for years to come

That's grrat to hear bro , this is my 3rd bosch tool and it did serve me well in its 4 months of use since bought , it has akready gone through more than hundreds of drilling in concrete wood and some metal , and i am using it more than my corded hammer drill 🙂

Just noted the 490 stands for 490 in-lbs of torque or roughly 55Nm. So yeah, mine is basically the GSB18V-55. Still going strong. I use it mainly on wood and concrete walls

@@engineer_alv I've got mine for six months now , used mainly for drilling wood , concrete , and driving screws , that is every day use , also used for drilling metals , I love the speed clutch function because I prefer drilling metals in low rpm.

I have 1unit of this machine , I choose to screw mode , when I screw until tight ..it' is auto stop when that screw tight ?
@JohnUyArts3 жыл бұрын
yes depending on the torque setting , you can see there is 1 ,2 ,3 ,4 ,5 ,,, etc ... you try experimenting which setting is best for you in screw mode , that is a feature to prevent over tightening of screws , so it auto stops when it is tight , depending on the number you set in drill and hammer mode , it will force more torque on the screws which will cause loose thread , broken screws , etc...

Nice video, bro. Well filmed. I got mine today, here in Brazil, but I'm noticing something like a "gear sound" when i'm full throtle on the 2nd speed and release the trigger, also a little "tremor"on the body, seems like its the brake mechanism. Does your make it too?
@JohnUyArts3 жыл бұрын
Hello good day bro !!! It's a normal behavior for cordless drill especially with brush-less motors . There is the absence of inertia or "freewheel" after the trigger is released . It's also its brake mechanism . With the 2nd gear , the inertia is higher and that's why we get the "gear sound" after releasing the trigger and the brake is engaged . It's like a "gear bump" sound . And also , if the chuck is not locked during this process , it will freewheel after each braking . Hope I get everything right and clear ? :)

Hmm, i did not know that a GSB18V-50 exists. Its not listed on Bosch page either. I guess its the GSB18V-55 now. They renamed the 85 to 110 as well to represent the max torque and make it more compareable with other manufacturers. Just bought the GSB18V-55 and can see no difference in the model with yours.

All depends which platform you want to use. Dewalt unit is a great drill similar in price to the bosch. But for about 100 quid Inc 2 batteries a charger & a case isn't bad to be fair. Also the batteries are part of an alliance scheme where they can be used in other brands , seems makita is on board as well now. So you don't have to be tied to one platform 👍

From zero percenr , about an hour. A friendly tip , never zero your batteries to make them last so long , once the indicator is one bar recharge it immediately , it usually gets full in less than an hour , 30 to 40 mins on average I am basing this on stock 2Ah

what do you think of the PSB 1800 compared to this?
@JohnUyArts3 жыл бұрын
Hi , the PSB 1800 has a max torque of 38 Nm , the GSB 18V50 is 50 Nm. I am not so sure if the PSB 1800 is compatible with the bosch 18v system. The PSB 1800 is for light DIY home projects with chuck max capacity of 10mm , while the GSB 18V50 is heavy duty , 13mm capacity , metal chuck compared to the other which is plastic , and brushless motor compared to the other which is DC brushed motor.
@rw42123 жыл бұрын
@@JohnUyArts True. But PSB is made in Europe. Would that be considerable?
@JohnUyArts3 жыл бұрын
@@rw4212 personally , the country where its made does not matter so much , what matters is what it was designed to , we also have that model in our country , i believe its made in China or Malaysia . The GSB 18V50 is construction grade , it was designed for job sites.

Bro, how's the hammer function? Na try mo na sa concrete like sa pader? Salamat sa review👍💯
@JohnUyArts3 жыл бұрын
Yes sir , I have tried this on pure concrete , take note , concrete is not the same as masonry , masonry may just refer to plaster or hollow block walls . With hollow block walls digs with ease , but impulse drives makes the drill bit run cooler and digs efficiently compared to continuous drive . Now with concrete , this is a different story , whether you are using the GSB 18V 50 or any corded percussion impact hammer drill , drilling becomes a pain , a silver percussion or a multi material masonry bit will make drilling a tiny little faster , but using ordinary masonry bits is torture . But still force is required and drilling multiple holes will really pain you hehe . The real solution to masonry is with a rotary hammer drill , trust me its effortless :))) So to answer your question , yes the GSB 18V-50 can do the job , but i dont recommend drilling concrete with more than 10 holes .

@JohnUyArts3 жыл бұрын
