Thanks for taking the time to make this video for us. Mine arrived today, ordered direct from Breville. Now I know what to expect when I unbox it tomorrow b/c of your video.

18g should be the standard amount for a 54mm portafilter, cafes normally have 58mm that's why they use a higher dose.

Hello Oksie. Thanks for the excellent video dialing in the Barista Pro.A couple of years ago ,I purchased the Barista express.I had no problems with this machine what so ever.It was simple to operate.and made great espresso But I decided to buy another machine, and sold my Barista to a friend of mine.She is happy as can be with her purchase .The new machine was Automatic and quit expensive. However,I never got the taste out of this machine as I did from the Barista Express.Henceforth I purchased the Barista Pro ,in the Crimson Blue colour.I have to say,I'm struggling with the dialing in the right amount.But when I watched your excellent charming video I managed to get a half decent shot Eureka.Finally I am on my way.Thank you for posting your video. HR.

Im so please to hear that my video was of help with making your shots taste better. just keep practicing and you'll get it. It definetly took me a few times until I got it. Also different beans can give a different taste as well. So I would recommend trying different beans until you find the ones you love. Also, don't give up trying. Because I know someone who bought this machine and gave up because they couldn't figure out the espresso shots, and now they aren't even using their machine. soooo sad. But I really hope you enjoy your machine!

Herman, I also have the Bassista Express. For five years now and I will never let it go untill the last drip 😋 I had to replace a sensor a month ago. It was pricy but worth it. I don't know the Pro machine but it should be similar to the Express. Have you tried to change the grind size and quantity. When I first dial my machine, I put on paper every shot untill I get the perfect taste I want. *Taste*: Coffee is all about your own taste. There is no magic recipe, you have to find the perfect mix for YOU. P.S. I don't use a scale. Once you have it dialed to your taste, what a scale is good for??? P.S.2 Something you must do and no video tell you is to clean your portafilter and the filter. Remove the filter from the portafilter and look all the coffee residue you have there. This is what will alter your next shot.

Great video! I've got 2 new espresso machines for home, two different styles(as bought one last year retro Italian 50s kind of style but didn't unbox it yet and another one came out Modern Brushed aluminium&chrome slimline -Identical to the new Delonghi slimline, (both Italian-made pumps) so I had to do it! Lol.. Thinking now maybe have one upstairs in my office and one in kitchen downstairs!? Just if I'm feeling lazy or a bit busy! Lol) Hoping they're NOT BOTH TOTALLY RUBBISH!?/have to replace both with a better one, IDEALLY they're both up to a GOOD espresso once/if they can be dialed in well-enough!? Lol 😂🤣🤦🏻 They're 15 bar Italian pumps/ internals etc and bought a seperate stand alone steel-conical burr electric coffee grinder hoping for better more consistent grind than a cheap blade or a ceramic burr grinder? Will also probably change out the portafilters they came with for non-pressurised baskets, that can handle a finer grind open-bottom/single layer basket style as they're supposed to be better (being that's what they use on the high-end machines and in coffee shops), but who knows!? I think they might only only a 51mm or 53mm width basket, so not sure how that's going to affect the set up/what can be done basket wise and grind-size wise (I'll try with the pressurised baskets that they came with them first.. and see if any good, as I notice the ones you have are also pressurised baskets) This was great video to see the machine and also get an idea how you weigh yours out/dial it in.. I'm ready to set mine up and go now, (as soon as I've made space and got time to set up two!) I'll be buzzing! Lol 🤦🏻🤦🏻😂🤣 I'm very tempted by the Breville tbh don't know whether to just sell the two I have and go for one of these instead they're so easy to use! Cheers from London England 👍😎🏴🇬🇧

Hey girl! If you don’t mind sharing, what problem did you have with your previous breville machine? My brand new barista pro started getting all messed up within 1 week with the steam wand! The steam wand wasn’t producing steam, and rumbling. Breville video chatted me & is sending a new one. I’m disappointed :( hoping the next one is a charm! What happened with yours?

Thank you for sharing! I am still debating on machine choice. What made you choose the pro? Debating on Pro or Touch.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure I watched your previous video about a year back with the other Braville machine? If it was you great you bought this new one. Wish I kept it now, I just could find the way to use it and now you have a video up explaining the steps ! I looked everywhere for someone to show how to make a cup of coffee using this thing but no one put a video up! Great job, it would be nice if you could show a tutorial from start to finish on how to make a cappuccino latte espresso etc and showing the amount of brand you put in just like this one!
@oksiek82562 жыл бұрын
Yes you are correct. That was me reviewing this machine about a year or 2 ago. I like this machine a lot. I can make another video as a tutorial how to make a cappuccino.

My Barista Pro is not working today. I'll usually hold the double shot button for 7 secs for pre-infusion before releasing the button for normal extraction. But the pre-infusion function doesn't seem to be working. Coffee is extracted immediately. Have you experienced this before? Please help..

It'll be worth it. But you can probably go without it if you don't care to make the shot totally perfect.

The myth that espresso can't sit for more than 10 seconds is a Starbucks myth btw. Cooled down espresso only tastes worse than hot espresso if your espresso was bad to begin with, which is often the case at Starbucks.

Hey barista here! Just gonna mention that packing the mountain of grounds down into the portafilter basket isn’t the best idea! Use the razor to level it off before you tamp to make sure it’s all nice and even:)

u didn't preheat the porter filter , 20g is too much, your scale is not for weighing coffee, you should make coffee first and then milk, you're better off using an automatic machine
