Yeah, Making sure those tabs are pushed to the inside of the stroller, that is what the cat seat connects to. Pushing down on the tray didn't help for me, but I just felt with my fingers where it connects and just line it up that way, and I guess muscle memory would just make it easier. Bad design decision by evenflow imo, but the rest of the stroller seems good, ultrasmooth stroller.
