Thanks so much for this video Kim. I am really impressed with this image (your artwork is amazing). I have never used EverMoment, but am now definitely interested in trying them for a custom. The problem I will have is choosing an image to send them! I have a couple of trips planned so I'm hoping that we get a good picture or two I can use. Literally opening my first ever custom from Ever Moment as I watch this! I am new to DP and only ever done one cheap one from Shien before. Do you also have a video where you prep a canvas with washi and such? Not quite sure where to start 🫣😍

Hi Nicole. Oooh, you're going to be so impressed with Ever Moment. I've been diamond painting for a long time, and I can tell you in all honestly that they are one of the very best stores. So, enjoy your painting, and please check in again in a few weeks and let me know how it's going. As for a prepping video, I don't have one of those unfortunately. I normally prep my canvass by putting washi tape around the edge, in other words over the glue that has extended past the painting. I also section off my canvass using washi tape, which means putting the washi tape onto the plastic cover of the painting to create sections. Make sure to never put the washi tape directly onto the canvass i.e. onto the glue. That will cause you massive problems and will damage the canvass.

❤Just thinking about the nickname thing. I taught in several schools and a couple of universities and those places in which we had nicknames for each other were by far the friendliest. I see differences like that in diamond painting channels. In a few you just automatically feel at home whereas in some you feel like you're back in junior with all the peer pressure that entails! Which parcel forwarding company do you use? I know they don't ship directly to SA, and a lot of the companies on AliExpress that do use the Post Office - which is a nightmare I try to avoid 😂

I refuse to do any shipping that uses the post office! They are less than useless and I won't use them. I plan on doing a WIP & Chat in early March where I'll talk all about using parcel forwarding companies, how they work, which one I recommend for SA etc. So definitely look out for that. But in short, I use a company called Postbox Courier. They specialize in imports into SA.

@@myhappyplacewithkime1430 thanks 🙂 I'm the same.... They've lost one too many of my parcels, so I've been using Aramex Global Shopper. But their service standards have slipped a lot over the past few months so I'm looking at alternatives.

@@some.craftz I used Aramex a number of times just before COVID and I had such problems with them. They always cleared my items (at the time they weren't diamond paintings) using the wrong clearance codes, and then they'd give me this huge bill for customs charges, and I'd have to argue with them, and then when they eventually acknowledged that they had used the wrong code, they couldn't clear the wrong amount on their system, and I had to pay by direct deposit into their account...and so it went on. It was just one drama after the other. So yeah, I won't use them again. The company I've used for 3 years now is Postbox Courier and they've been excellent! Slightly more expensive than Aramex I think but none of the hassles.

@@myhappyplacewithkime1430 the prices differ by about R200 on heavier parcels, which I will happily pay to not have to deal with AGS. They've done the exact same thing to me too. And trying to get hold of their customer service is like trying to find electricity in South Africa 🤣
