You know now that you mention it, all Apple packaging kinda has this "paint" smell to it. I think it's the type of box they use, all that formaldehyde or somethin lol. I've always noticed there's a distinct smell any time I unbox an Apple product.

To increase volume on your Apple AirPods Max or Pro or other headphones go to your iPhone Settings > Music> at Audio make sure Sound Check is OFF then use your iphone sound volume to increase sound Level Or second option Settings > Sound & Haptics > Headphone Safety > Reduce Loud Sounds switch to ON then increase the bar to max at 100 decibels

Ive had and used both and while I will say the build quality, apple eco system, spatial audio, sound quality and N/C all all really nice on the APM's they are heavy on the sides and arent that much better, imo, to justify the $200+ more price over the XM4's which sound real good themselves and are lighter in weight. Keep in mind I also don't use over ear headphones enough to get $550 use out of them. I returned the APM's and kept the XM4's and also picked up a MagSafe duo charger and braided solo loop for about the same price as the APM alone.

this is what I had said ... It's a little difficult to recommend the AiPods Max to everyone but if you have the money to spare you will love them. On the one hand, there are many good ANC over-ear headphones from other manufacturers that cost between $200 and $350. On the other hand, there are high-end headphones that cost well over $1,000. Apple is somewhere in between with AirPods Maxl not only in terms of price. The overall impression of the Airpods Max, taking into account all aspects such as build quality, battery life, h1 chip features, noise suppression and sound, all is very good. But honestly, I think I'm going to be still using my Sony XM4s for my wireless headset of choice it has a better sound to me and it's more comfortable and also cheaper.
