Great question! I wish I knew. I haven't used for more than a year. I know it has some troubleshooting functions but I wasn't able to use in any other way besides reading all sorts of codes on my Honda cars. PS: it's my other account.

I'm sorry for late reply. Unfortunately, I have no idea since I used it more than a year ago. I only used it to check various errors like ABS, SRS etc. I remember I could test seat position sensor with it, but I never touched other systems.

Other OBD2 and RS plugs are for self testing the unit.

Hey, I already sold my Honda Accord a while ago and don't use it too often. I still have Hond Odyssey but unfortunately I may not use this HDS device till about late spring this year when it gets warm again. My Odyssey have some issues but I'm OK with it at this moment.

@@MatthewTaylor3 I'm sorry for late reply. I'm totally not sure about software updates because my laptop with that software isn't connected to the internet at all. Unfortunately, Idk if this copy allows you to get any firmware updates or not and then I'm not sure if I would be able to do this via this software. I never done any firmware updates using this software before. So until I hook it and start working on the car I really can't confirm anything at this moment. It's freezingly cold outside where my Odyssey is parked so unfortunately it won't happen anytime soon or maybe within few weeks...

How do I download software without CD. I have seen videos of software downloading without CD. Is this possible

Sorry for late reply. I have no idea if software can be downloaded anywhere. I think software may be useless without hardware...

Actually, this is a clone of the genuine HDS HIM that Teradyne makes. If you look closely on the back sticker of the Chinese fake, you'll find some funny grammar :D

Yeah, why need genuine when this is cheaper and is more than enough if you have a single problem and don't work on Hondas on a daily basis? :D BTW I have a TPMS light on when I installed a spare set of Honda wheels. I guess I'll have to use this kit again soon to find out what's going on there...

did you ever get the software to work? i ordered the same thing and installed on 64-bit windows 7. but keep getting an error message "Testman executable has stopped working"

Actually it worked perfect. Installation was pretty simple. I also installed it on Win 7-64. I wish I could help but I never had such error message. In fact I've never had any troubles with launching the software. Try to install it on a different laptop. I'm currently using it to troubleshoot an SRS related issue in my Honda Accord. Actually I only read the code and tried to check sensor. This device probably needed to read the code. If you have a service manual there should be error codes and related troubleshooting guides.

@@NoWheelDrive i bought one of those before tried installing on 2 different machines 3 different operating system with bunch of different port settings. Newer got it to work the device just would not communicate with the car. Sent it back with recite newer received replacement nor my money back. Would be nice if there were a place where you could get a loner or rent a shop for few hours where you could use their tools to work on your car

@@alex140666 ​ I agree - this tool sucks. I didn't have time to make another video regarding this tool. But lesson learned. At this moment I'd better buy a STAR system (laptop with software, multiplexer, cables etc) from eBay or obdii365 or any reputable seller. There are ones on MBworld forums. But no shop will rent you diagnostic tools because they may be pretty complex. It'd be a waste of time for them since they don't have resources to explain how it works. Renting garage with lift and tools? Yes. There is Garageyourself in Miami FL here in US and probably many other similar businesses in other states and countries. Renting diagnostic tools? I doubt you can find it. On the other hand STAR (WIS etc) is pretty complicated. Mercedes mechanics learn how to use it probably for months. But what we can do? Buy a STAR online and then play with it till you get familiar with it's interface etc. Also It's great idea to find friends who are Mercedes certified mechanic. They may share a lot of practical wisdom with you. PS: I wouldn't buy non-Mercedes cheap diagnostic tools which you can find everywhere like Amazon, eBay, AliExpress. They may tell you the code and it's meaning but probably never tell you how to troubleshoot it or how to fix the issue step-by-step.

@@kacasio1 I tried to assign it to every possible port with no luck. I no longer have it so i can't run more test. returned it to seller newer got reimburse. Amazon doesn't give a F unless you buy products that are marked as prime.

Did you found out the SRS issue on the Accord? What about the Odessey? Did you returned the other HDS? Any updates with the HDS? Have you managed to connect it and check the cars? 🤔

Sorry for very late reply. I found the issue with SRS. It was bad seat position sensor. Unfortunately HDS didn't help me a lot. I mostly followed the repair manual. HDS just game me the code but according to the manual it could be sensor, wire harness or even SRS module. So I checked everything and finally replaced seat position sensor and that SRS light was gone.

@@MrYugoman Which sensor? As far as I can remember I could only test seat position sensor. Currently I have TPMS light on and I'd like to see if I could "memorize" TPMS sensor ID with HDS.

@@NoWheelDrive sorry, I meant to say the occupant sensor on the passenger seat. It measures the weight of the person sitting in the seat. I have replaced the sensor but now I need to calibrate the sensor, was wondering if this is possible on this hds system? Thanks so much for your response

@@MrYugoman Unfortunately, Idk. I think you mean "weight sensor". Let me see if I could find anything about calibrating weight sensor in repair manual. I always start with the manual and see what it says about it. Please tell your DTC code. So far all I see in the repair manual is to clear the DTC. I didn't find anything about calibrating it. We'll continue searching.

Hey, this tool was able to tell me the SRS code and explain what this code means. In my case I got "Open in seat position sensor" in driver's seat. You can even test position sensor with this tool. I'm not sure if this tool is good for troubleshooting but it definitely helped me to read SRS code in my Honda Accord. I rather recommend to buy one. It's much much cheaper than Mercedes diagnostic tools.
