Any tips on adjusting the backstitch spacing with the fabricator? I’m having challenges with getting a good backstitch using the fabricator.

I love sailrite! Such a good company bought an LS-1 with a monster wheel second hand and put the worker B motor which has an electronic speed adjustment on it. It works awesome now! I really wanted the fabricator but it was too rich for me! With my LS-1 and my workerB on sale I'm under $600 so I'm very happy. Now I want a cylinder arm LOL!

Where do you get all your hardware from. You are one of the best leather craftsmen who has inspired me to get into the craft.

I'm getting things together to make this a business. I don't have a lot to start with, but I have a waiting list of people who want me to make stuff. Even better is they are wanting to pay. A sewing machine is in the future, not the first machine I want, but definitely down the road. Thank you for your great information. It's helpful to a disabled vet like me just follow a path laid by great crafters like yourself.

What makes the fabricator better for leatherwork over the sailrite "leatherwork" model?
@whitandpark
@whitandpark Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say it's more perfect for leatherwork in general but it's better for more serious leatherworkers who use it more and need to handle more volume, etc...The leatherwork model is really awesome, but it's smaller, and it doesn't have a leg lift for the presser foot. Also it can't handle quite as heavy leather as the fabricator can. Basically it's a hobby machine vs. industrial machine. I have both now so i'll be doing a comparison video very soon

@Whit + Park Leatherwork good info, thank you. The website does not detail that and they look the same, same description. So thanks for explaining that and I'll be waiting for that video!

Quick question where can I buy heavy duty line 24 snaps in bulk. Any Canadian suppliers?

Money aside , would you pick this or the techsew 2750?
@whitandpark
@whitandpark Жыл бұрын
Well the 2750 is a cylinder arm. And different class altogether. If I was buying a machine for gussets and heavy duty leather bags. I’d go with the TECHSEW 2750 (although I’d probably recommend the cobra class 26 over the techsew now, just comes with a better motor in my opinion). But if you’re looking for a machine to sew wallets, folios, trim and other details on bags and other light to medium weight leather goods, id recommend the Fabricator 👍🏻

I have found myself venturing farther into machine sewing leather. I started on cotton fabric, vinyl, and I’m leveling up to leather now, and I’m excited to hear you talk more about leather on the fabricator! 🎉

It's called saving up to buy a machine, most will never be able to do it because money burns a hole in their pocket. That said for $2,000 I'd go with a class 20 cobra.

@@charlesabbott5563 Don't gotta have an attitude like that. Saving money nowadays is a luxury many just can't do anymore. If you think buying groceries to feed your family and buying gas to get to work is "burning a hole" think again.

I know in my neck of the woods (Denver) the sailrites are usually always popping up on the classifieds. I wish I would have bought one but like yourself, I didn't have the money laying around 😔.

@@MrPenguin1w 4 years saving up to get mine by putting the change from my pockets in a can every night, and don't give me that crap about food and bills I've been on disability since I broke my back again in 2010 if you really want to do it you can.

You are why I finally bought all my leather tools and sat down one day and put on bloodsport, and made myself a new wallet out of kangaroo. Now I make all kinds of stuff. Thanks for the inspiration sir.
