Only problem with the gopro.. It's range away from the screen using it as an fpv is only about 50 feet before it disconnects. Which sucks.. Because within its range.. The feed is clean enough and crisp enough.. Would be nice if gopro stepped up their game a bit.

@@IRONCLADRC anything 8 and above are pretty much the same in my opinion. The app which allows you to add the speedo gauge is the WORST! I do love my gopros though! As frustrating as they and their software can be. It can take abuse like no other. I've dropped my hero 9 from the top of a crane, and ran over my hero 8 offroading... They both still work just fine. Lens protectors save the day. For the record my obsolete hero 4 still works Others will argue that dji or insta 360 take the cake. But I disagree. If you want to attach the gopro to a boat. And not worry about it flying out of its case after the mount fails (which it will eventually) .. Gopro attaches straight to the mount where every other action camera you need a case to insert the camera into. And then attach that to the mount. Hope that rant helps 🤦‍♂️

@@JANDRMARINE Why do you need a GoPro? There are loads of miniature cameras that squawk the standard frequencies and protocols. They can be had for around $40. Heck, some are around $20 although it might not be good to go to cheap. The transmitters have good range some out to 1000 yards. Check with the jungle company.

Dude that thing is awesome! I've been using the same dx5 u have for years and love it but this thing makes the dx5 look like a beginners radio lol. Sucks they are $700 tho😢, youtube must be paying u the big bucks haha

I'm with you on this, I thought I liked my dx5, BUT playing with the IXSR for a few days now I'm completely sold on the android technology, definitely makes navigation 10000% times easier.. highly recommend

Hey have you messed around with the launch control mode yet? Might make a cool vid! Always wanted to see how it worked on boats since the speed run car guys use it. To my knowledge, you can set the amount of seconds from when you give it full trigger and it will spool up the throttle linearly in the set time. Would think it would be ideal on limited space to get max throttle as quick as possible w/o over throttling and flipping.

2 questions...is the range the same or greater and does it have a tractor mode to where 2 motors can be used to steer. Great review and you've mentioned that you really wanted this radio and by the looks of your old one you needed it so I'm glad you got it.

I have not seen "tracker mode" in any of the options, but I wasn't looking for it either, if and when I run across "tracker" mode you'll be the first to know. As for range testing, I haven't used the IXSR in the field yet. Soon.... BG4L

Great radio for a pro hobbiest like yourself. I just bought a Pro Boat Recoil V2 26 and wish I had a better hand controller. Do you have an upgrade recommendation that isn't too expensive? I know the provided unit has a dedicated 3rd channel for righting the boat. I'm guessing this would require a radio/receiver swap... Thanks, Michael

always something new , i have the IX12 for my RC planes the IXSR lookes like a winner a lot to take in . i am looking at the rugged 6 channel . dose the sr315 and the sr 515 have some trlemetry in them . thank you for all the info it really helps .

Cool man i've seen plenty of videos of this beautiful TX, Let me know how it works for you i'm planning on getting one next year since my Radiolink RC8X which has probably been the most unreliable radio i've ever owned it once glitched and drove one of my cars full speed into a wall at my local track. And it makes me wish i bought a Spektrum DX5C so at least i would have a good head start to upgrade to one of these but this didn't exist at the time so i can't blame myself too much.

Man, that thing is the bomb! As an old programmer, I can say it appears well thought out. Do you know if there is a programming toolkit to let a user create custom apps? For example, maybe I’d like to create a notepad app so I can make a quick note of some mod I need to remember to make.

IXSR transmitter has Google Keep (notes and list) pre-installed for note taking. I appreciate you pointing this feature out to me, very handy.

I'm not new to Android phones but it's the convenience of having All right there with you You can adjust whatever you want, even the things that require an Android or phone to do so like the Castle link or or the speed sensor app not only a controller for all the cars you could ever want but a phone as well essentially lol

The android in the airplanes by spectrum was a disaster in the beginning. 2 minutes to tern on. Lots of bugs. The newer version ix20 has a faster processor and functions much better. However the android function is unnecessary.

It's a crappy spektrum copy of my loved Flysky Noble but a great option if you want to stick within the whole spektrum eco sphere. I everyday carry 2 smartphones, knipex wrench pliers, leatherman wingman and a flashlight. I really don't need to carry a third smartphone in my transmitter.
