I have the same model in gray, i got it a month after its original release in 2022 as a birthday gift, probably the best iPad & device i ever used (i had a phew android tablets before it but all were somewhat laggy). I am sure updates for this model as well as the new 6th gen will last a while considering they have the m1 & m2 processors. 😊

funny story when i was in university I used to take the train back home and I just bought an iPad and apple pencil as well. literally a week after I purchased them I was walking to my car from the train station and I found an apple pencil on the ground LOL i looked around the parking lot trying to find it's owner but the parking lot was completely empty. So, I decided to keep it and now i have two apple pencils 😅 I hope your iPad air has been serving you well!! i like the convenience of ipads because they're so much lighter and portable than laptops

Wow how lucky of you getting an extra Apple Pencil like that! haha My mistake was putting on a glass screen protector instead of “paper-like” one because I was too worried about the tip of the pencil being damaged soon. But the glass screen is sooo slippery when it comes to writing and drawing on the iPad and I don’t like it… I’ll probably get a paper-like one so I can enjoy drawing on it!

@@mymatchalatte77 I know right! I thought it was like a straw or something then when I looked closely I saw it was an Apple Pencil haha. oh yea, I heard about that screen protector you should get it! I actually don’t use a screen protector on my iPad 😬but People have told me to get the paper screen protector but I suck at digital art and drawing in general haha. I can only draw cartoon characters 🤣 what drawing app do you use? I got ProCreate but it’s so hard to draw on it so I gave up 😅

I wanted Procreate, but it costs so I thought I’d start with free ones. I use Concepts and Freeform, which is Apple’s digital whiteboarding app. I’m still not used to neither of them tho😂

I wanted an iPad that's not as pricy as the Pro models and the iPad Air 5 is two years old (released in March 2022), so I considered it as one of the newest ones still!

I think writing on a glass won't be a great experience 😅. I suggest getting this combo: Pen-like metal nibs + Paperlike. The pen-like metal nibs for Apple Pencils last really long and I would recommend to get it to use with Paperlike for more writing feel 😅🥰✨️

Hi! Thanks for your comment! I’m pretty new to an Apple Pencil, so I’m not an expert or anything, but if I’d give you some advice, I’d say using a glass screen protector instead of a “paper-like” one? It’ll make the tip of the pencil last longer, but if you use your iPad to draw, a glass one might be too slippery tho…

I do love the home button! However, I wanted as new model as possible for my iPad. Also, because I use my iPad for digital drawing and pretty intense video editing, I needed the model with better tech specs (like having the Apple M1 chip).
