Cool! I have the 6th gen model in silver (not white). And still use it to this day with a newer apple 40-pin cable to charge and sync that I bought back in 2012 but didn't use much...

what do you mean by you couldnt convert and add songs to the ipod? I used downie in my mac and just download like 500 songs off youtube and loaded them onto my ipod classic. Try it out if you still cant load your own songs onto it.
