For $1000 you could get any number of classic second-hand Swiss watches...Like a nice Omega Seamaster for example. For $1,500 you can get some really nice stuff that will keep it's value or go up. This is built in China by an 8-year old company, it's unlikely to ever be a classic (and these are losing 50% of their value already on the secondhand market) I'd save a bit more and get something classic and timeless, like a speedmaster.

Pumping this CIGA watch has made me question some of Nico's other opinions. I could be wrong but Nico's enthusiasm for this watch does not seem genuine. His excitement around other brands is far greater. It feels like paid product placement. I have bought a CIGA watch, not the blue planet, but it serves an indicator for the level of craftsmanship involved and you can tell it is nowhere near the level of quality as the other brands Nico supports.
