I just don’t get the price tag for these bags. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is pretty but for the money, I don’t see it. Maybe it is a status thing but I don’t get that either. I love designer handbags but there is a limit on what I think is appropriate for something that is just an accessory. Even if I could, I wouldn’t. I certainly don’t need a handbag to make me feel like I’m important.

Birkin bags are actually great investments because over time they increase in value. So you dont lose your money buying a birkin.. actually quite the opposite.

It’s an investment. You can sell it 5 years later for SO much more than the price you paid. Luxury goods increase in price every year, plus add to that the fact that Birkins are so hard to get from the boutique…. People will pay crazy money for one. I personally would buy one because I’m into designer bags and I love the stayus symbol of Hermes, but if you’re not into all that, just think of it as investing your money.

Your Birkin is gorgeous... I got the same one in Black with gold hardware... I was so excited to get it, after saving my money for so long to get it... Then... I found it was so impractical to use... It is so heavy even when it is empty! I can't really handle carrying it in my hand instead of over the shoulder. It's too bad the Birkin does not come with a shoulder strap... I packed mine back into the box and have never used it... I wasted my hard-earned money...

I don’t understand how having paid so much for the bag you haven’t gone back to Hermes to discuss the issue with the flap. I wouldn’t accept it as it’s clearly meant to close so if it doesn’t that’s a fault. I agree with the person below about the cost of these bags. They are purely status symbols. End of.
