Dayle, I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS UNBOXING since Una posted the SOLD! story 3 weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!! to quote myself in the DM I sent her in response to that story: "Does the new owner loves purple, peekaboos and raffia, lives in Australia and is going on holiday to Europe soon?" It's GORGEOUS!!! 2 things: 1.-- not to contradict the expert but between the round magnetic closure, the FF zipper pull and the little metal plaque inside I'm almost positive the bag is older than 2005, it's spring 1999 at the latest. The dust bag is definitely older than 2005 2.-- If you really are going to use it just as a clutch you can easily remove the strap buckles. The bar that attaches it to the bag works with a spring like on watches with a strap or the bar that holds toilet paper rolls that nobody likes to change. If you use a clip or the little key that comes with smartphones to insert the SIM card to press on one of the little holes on either side of each buckle, the whole thing comes off and then you end up with just the leather tabs. (edit) just be careful when handling the bars because they will have a little grease on them to help everything go smooth and no one wants to stain their bag specially if it's light colored

For the same reason as you, I haven’t been huge on vintage things. But I recently have been getting super interested in vintage as well. I just got a vintage Louis and a vintage mink coat! I’m not into buying real fur these days, but buying something vintage, it’s so old I can’t be upset 😅.

depending on the material a bag is made it can turn crusty and smelly on it's own regardless of what the owner did with it so you've definitely been lucky with your purchases
