I am sure you will love this machine. I have an older model Brother Sewing/embroidery combo machine that has the 5x7 hoop. It may not sound like it is that much larger, but it is over doble the square inches field, and that will make a big difference in the variety of designs you can select. There are lots more projects available to do on a 5x7 vs a 4x4. Wait till you start trying "in the hoop" designs! I also own a Brother Stellaire XE2, so most of my embroidery is done on that, and I use the other machine for sewing. I LOVE it for sewing! Look in your manual for some really good sewing techniques. The zipper insertion in the manual is the best I've ever seen.

Congratulations on your new machine! I’m pretty sure that the thread that came with your machine is bobbin thread for embroidery. It probably is “Finishing Touch” brand. Have fun with your new machine!

I am not impressed at all!!! Can it sew linen, table sheets and bed sheets?? Any 6 layers denim penetration test?
