After three months of waiting, I finally received my new pair of Crockett and Jones Harvard loafers in a dark brown Horween shell cordovan. In this video, I'm unboxing them and trying them on to see how they fit and giving a short review of these iconic and classic penny loafers.

Really. Loafers with jeans work but, honestly, I have them on with jeans here because that’s what I was wearing when I unboxed them. Y’all are way too literal sometimes. But seriously, loafers with jeans work.

@@hespokestyle No. You don’t get to define style, it is defined by purpose and years of use. You can, though, wear whatever you want, and you can go against style. But, see the looks you’ll get wearing brown shoes with a black suit, sandals with chinos, or sneakers with corduroy slacks (all akin to wearing jeans with loafers).

I recently got into wearing tassel loafers and I love them. I have worn them with a double-breasted suit and a polo with slacks. They make me feel really elegant. Much more so than my lace-up dress shoes despite the casualness of a loafer. I feel you can dress them up or down depending on the outfit.

Yeah, I actually hit a point recently where I was like, I'm done with crappy shoes. And when I was in London I went to about five different makers to see which felt like the best fit for me. C&J was the clear winner and now I have too many pairs of them... :)

Check out the Crawford line for loafers. Definitely recommend with C&J and Gaziano’s to buy their actual shoe trees as they are low fronted and standard ones can deform

Thanks. They were a little snug out of the box, as I mentioned, but that's to be expected. They did feel pretty good right out of the box. Probably because they're unlined. Very different than the suede Boston model I also have -- those took a good week or two of wearing to feel like they had some give to them.

Did you size down a half size as advised? Size wise how do they differ from the Boston? I also have the Boston & wondering if I should size down for the Harvard Cordovan. Great look as always!

The Boston is the only model I have had to size up in. The 314 last fits small so I went up a half size there. All my other C&J shoes are size 7.
