Thanks for the unboxing video but what a coincidence. Last week I purchased exact the same set. And I must say they work really well. What I really found very ingenious was the magnetic GA buttons. Ne screws at all just click and done. On the bottom side of the flap detends, the printed the Airbus and Boeing types, which is a nice touch. I didn’t figured it yet what the two little screws are used for? Also I use this kit for flying the ATR. All six of the axis are all used. Very nice. I hope HC will survive, if the whole fs community will spend maybe 2 dollars to fund the company it definitely will be saved. 😊

The only thing which makes me sometimes nervous is to configure the reversers on different aircrafts (pmdg737, fenix320,...). But that's more an simulator issue...

Thank you! Indeed those Reversers are a bit of a pain in the sim, especially if you want some kind of control over them and not just switch between IDLE and max.

After your last video on the Honeycomb Bravo, I quickly bought the Honeycomb Bravo throttlepack (through a third-party seller) with the extra set of Airbuslevers (as I prefer to fly the Busses more). But oh boy: I try to install the things in XPlane, but i causes so much trouble. Somehow I'll find my way. I'll need a new joystick now as I cut my T.Flight Hotas in two halves as I wanted to get rid of my throttle half. The beauty of this thing is that you can change from Airbus to Boeing and to GA. Thank you for the tip and your videos on the Honeycomb.

Great products - reasonably priced - purchased both some time ago ... only one negative issue ... when first tested, the Boeing-style flap lever (supplied with Flap Kit) came off the spigot when applying upwards pressure to change flap position ... quick fix, just a small piece of paper folded over the end of the spigot before pushing the lever on tightens the fit

I’m envious of all the space you have all my stuff a lot 😮 is crammed in the recessed space reserved for a wardrobe normally with a custom built desk. I’ve spent many frustrating hours getting everything fitted as I’ve replaced and renewed things it’s a constant chore redoing it. Thx for video interesting to see the setup alittle 😮

It's a 200x80cm desk I'm using and I really need all of it. What you didn't see on the other side of the cam was my guitar amp which takes about half a meter of the desk, but the rest of it is really filled with FS equipment. When my Boeing yoke is mounted to the desk and the WinWing stick is positioned in reach as well, which I also put to the side for this recording, things get cramped here pretty quickly as well.

Great video. It’s not a big deal but a quick tip for filming real world stuff under artificial light: if you record (and edit) in 50fps the flickering of the lights will go away. It’s because we use 50Hz AC in Europe unlike the US.

Yes it should as long as the camera is filming at 25/50 fps and the editing is also done at 25/50 fps. This is the reason cameras and TVs offer both 😀

I would love to get the Bravo some day, but currently my desk situation is space limited. I have enough room for the TCA Yoke, but that takes up all the free mounting space I have left, so there is no way I can fit such a huge throttle quadrant anywhere.

A bit off topic, but need to find out if anyone has found this yet. We need a trim wheel fix for XP12. And I'd love to know why Honeycomb hasn't offered a fix for the trim wheel, which doesn't work smoothly, and seems to skip segments when trying to trim the aircraft??? Honeycomb SHOULD have fixed this months ago. But it is still very intermittent. So I'm wondering if you are anyone else has found a fix for this in XP12? Or if Honeycomb is EVER going to offer an updated firmware? Cheers!

I'm baffled as to why they didn't make a pull-up switch for the speedbrake lever. For that sort of money, it's a deal-breaker for me. The circuit contacts are on the actual lever. Would have been easy to do.

I have mine programmed in spad.next. If the throttle lever is pulled aft. which is actually a button not an axis (it was a huge dissapointment I'm still not over). So if I press and hold the G/A button (using general av. thorttle grip) and put either of the throttles or both of them to aft. activating the reverse button how I call it on the bravo it sets idle reverse on every airbus. If I pull the throttle to rev. button without holding the G/A button It sets full reverse thrust and if I press the G/A button just once while full rev is activated and throttle in full aft mode it re-sets the throttle to rev. idle on an airbus. I don't fly Boeing so there is no Boeing solution, but I would imagine I could utilize the levers, plus most boeing aircrafts only have one or two stets of rev. performance while one can play with the rev. power on an airbus.

Hi, I did look into this (and others) and actually tried them on several shows already. In short: They feel like cheap plastic to me, not at all like an airplane. The money asked for them is huge for what they offer. I'll gladly pass.

Great video, Emanuel! I have a question: in the simulator, you can check on your EFB what the airplane weight is at any point. In a real life aircraft, is there a way you know at any point what the airplane weight is to use it in calculations or do you just estimate it?

Hi, in the real world we use an estimated weight from the flight plan (plus any extra fuel you loaded, that's easily forgotten!) for your first calculation and for the later exact calculation you use the weight from the loadsheet.

Did you not get the commercial throttle set? Those come with the bravo quadrant and have thrust reversers

I got them, but they're Boeing versions after all. I didn't quite like them and prefered the setup as I used it over those.

I've switched from the Honeycomb Throttle Quadrant to the Logitech Airbus TCA officer pack, because of two reasons: First: I am missing the detents for the throttle, which caused a couple of annoying situations, where one lever was in climb and another moved slightly out of the climb detent range. Second, the reverser didn't work reliably with the Fenix, no matter which settings I tried. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. I am still using the Honeycomb for the ATR and other prop planes, as the Honeycomb is really high quality. However, for the A320 I stick to the Logitech TCA.

Hi, I own the TCA levers as well, but I really don't like their detents and disabled them straight away. They just leave no range for manual thrust control at all. No way you can fly even halfway precisely with those.

@@A330Driver Yes, you're right, that's a drawback. I am flying the plane 80% with A/THR, so in most cases it only matters during taxiing and that is manageable.

Hi, not a criticism, but since you asked for feedback here’s mine. Unfortunately I couldn’t watch the first 2 minutes of the unboxing due to a flickering/stroboscopic effect on the boxes. Not sure if it was the camera or the lighting but for me it was almost seizure-inducing. I scrolled forward and found that the flickering disappeared after around the 2 minute mark, so I was able to watch the rest. Hope this is of help for any future live cam video’s you make. Thanks for all of your efforts.

Thank you for the feedback! Indeed I have no idea what changed that caused this. The external conditions were exactly the same they used to be earlier. I had similar issues with my goPro when trying to film in the airplane so I believe it got to do with the camera - but their support couldn't help me figure it out.

@@A330Driver probably because of the flicker effect of LEDs (due to electricronic frequency). Humans cant see it but the shutter of any camera makes it visible. Maybe you have a flicker free option somewhere or there are some post processing tricks

@@A330Driver It'll be to do with your shutter speed (FPS) not playing nice with the frequency of the LED light in your room. If you can play around with it, you should find a setting that works. European standard is 25p historically, but most cameras and KZbin support multiple different frame rates. Try 24p, 25p and 30p. If not, 50 or 60p. One of those will work.

I already have the Thrustmaster Airbus quadrant, but I just bought a Bravo in the sale last night, so good timing for this demo! I've been thinking about the ProDeskSim addons, but I want to just get the vanilla Bravo first and try it out before adding things on. My only comment about this video is it would've been nice to see it in action at the end. Especially the thrust reversers. Reversers are actually one of the biggest reasons I decided to get the Bravo, (and also didn't like having to use a screwdriver to add/remove the detents on the Thrustmaster). Obviously the Bravo is going to be best for Boeing and GA use, and the Thrustmaster is custom designed for the A320, but I'm curious to whether you think the Thrustmaster or the Bravo is more realistic for A330/A340 use? I didn't realise that the reversers worked differently on the widebodies, so that's good that these levers have that, and the sizing looks better for the A340/A380 than putting 2x Thrustmasters side by side, but the angle of the levers on the Bravo is a bit weird (too tilted back), and it looks like these throttles don't have the correct detents? Is that right? Either way, it seems like there will be compromises of some kind.

My take is that Honeycomb is better for both, Boeing and Airbus. Mostly because you got longer ways for your thrust levers to move and thus can control things more precisely. The detents on the TM Airbus Thrust levers are completly off. Why is the manual thrust range just as big as the range for the detents? That makes manual handling about impossible.

@@A330Driver My Bravo arrived and I've been trying out different things and going down the rabbit hole of research different lever addons. This Airbus pack looks quite good, but how are you finding operating the A330 without any detents? Do you just try and guess the best position by listening for the click sound? I imagine that could get really frustrating. The nice thing about the ProDeskSim version is that it has proper detents, but they don't have a 4-lever A340/380 version, and the the detents take up the 2nd and 5th axes, so I'm not sure if it's even possible to make a 4-engine airbus throttle with the correct detents unless they figure out something very clever.

No, you sit on the side appropriate for your rank. It's really easy to get used to flying with either hand. I am left handed and never had a problem flying with the right hand.

Not sure what your talking about. The 'flap kit' was announced last July by Honeycomb. This is a new product. It does not come included with the bravo unit.
