Thank you 4 sharing ...I just bought a Saxony and I've played Hohners 270 n 280s have to try my first Seydel.

Nice, I also play diminished-tuned harps. I have 3, 2 of which are Seydel. The only thing I play these days is a Seydel Non-Slider in diminished tuning. It's half-valved, can bend 1/2 step on all reeds. No slider sound or maintenance required. (I also have the acrylic red, it's pretty cool looking.)

Awesome. I bought the Deluxe Steel in the same tuning half a year ago. But I don't play it that often because I mostly prefer having draw bends. However, I have yet to find a harp that has enough notes on it and has a very good response. Maybe I'll get a custom-tuned Crossover from Hohner just to try it out and I wanted to get all 3 different layouts anyway. Do you know what the difference is between the Saxony and the Deluxe Steel other than the more open cover plates?

I think the only difference is the mouthpiece assembly and the aluminum comb. I was considering getting a Deluxe Steel as a backup but I'm not sure I want to give up the slide assembly on the Saxony. It's suppose to be an upgrade and more air tight. To confirm your Deluxe Steel chromatic is tuned to G diminished?

@@MattWatsonHarmonica Now that you say it I see a difference in the slider assembly. Yes, it is tuned in G (lowest blow note) diminished.

@@teliph3U You mentioned you don’t play it much. Interested in selling it?

@@MattWatsonHarmonica I still play it. It is a good instrument in perfect condition. (Actually, I just centered a reed which was one of the things which kept me from playing it.) I expect it to last for decades and I don't have any use for money at the moment so I don't have any intention of selling it. Thus, for the moment I have to decline your offer but thank you.

@@teliph3U I new it was a long shot. Cool you got it working! My next Seydel may be the Deluxe Steel.

The slider makes too much noise, my T1040 is so much quieter than this.

Funny, this is a very quiet slide. I don't hear it when I'm playing acoustic or with a band. This instrument plays like a dream. Glad you like you T1040.

@@MattWatsonHarmonica It would be, what I'm saying is based on what I listened to in this very video. The slider was making much noise when you took the instrument out and played with it @3:50
