A tip for the zippo lighter wick, use a small pair of nail clippers it works great and give a nice clean cut wick! Have a great day

Nice mail call and repairs! A Case lockback Sod Buster would be nice, but I found one from Moore Maker Knives in Matador Texas. They make a full size and a junior in lockback.

Sweet packages. I have the Hammer Brand mini toothpick version of that Hammer Brand fishing toothpick you have and looked up the tang stamp on. Mine has the same tang stamp and the same color and design pattern of yours. That is cool.

Love those miniature anvils… so many times saw a good deal on one… but ‘one’ has to show a little restraint… I try to keep the interest focused and narrowed ( keyword try) . But sure is nice to have something portable to beat on lol. It’s funny I remember some Schrade pocket knife write up from the 80s 90’s I believe… and it was about collecting: I’ll dig it up….. well after about a half hour 45 minutes of digging I couldn’t find it… must not have been in all of them.. these were boxes from the store… yeah anyway it talked about finding a theme in your collecting and trying to stay with one or two knife makers… (to the best of my recollection )my dad was into Schrade and Camillus … And I followed into his footsteps with that along with ownership of Chevrolets ( rear drives) . I did branch out into spiderco though because of my brother . He gave me one like 20 years ago. Oh, exceptions though … at antique shop, one time… saw a homemade anvil for $25 made from railroad rail. Just like my 2x 72 grinder/ sander .. Can be used for other fabrication or repair work : automotive and around the house… folks are amazed. When I say :well we can we can make that work. We can make that fit…. We can heat that up and make it into something else…. Great book : $50 KNIFE SHOP by Wayne Goddard!!! Great book to read and occasionally pick back up again and again… Truly, an inspirational book for setting up a shop or thinking outside the box !! Many knife makers will advise a beginner to pick this book up… but is a great book for any guy to have setting up his garage/shop. You certainly don’t need top of line tons of tools to work with.. kind of reminds me of a saying about the best tool is your mind… If you wanna do something you do it. My daughters helped me finish a ton of walking staffs in the 1990’s … we used the driveway as heavy grit sanding block for ends and some sandstone for over knots n branch ends to save on sand paper. Where there is a will there is a way.

Hey Knife Dr. I have my das sodbuster from the 70's it has a brass linerlock like those on an electricians knife. pretty rare!

​@@theknifedoctorCase used to make the sod buster with a liner lock but discontinued it. I don't know why they discontinued it, just another bad decision Case made. I know you don't buy Chinese knives but Rough Ryder makes one of those sod buster liner lock knives with yellow comp handles and carbon steel blade for like $12 and I'll admit it's a great knife. It's one of only two pocket knives I have.

I believe the Sears & Craftsman knives were made by Schrade. I have one of the Sears electrician knives. It is identical to the Schrade.
