Condition and appealing point:
Hamon is clear and beautiful. Jihada is beautiful.
This sword is a typical Muromachi Period made sword with Koto's feature, fine thin but beautiful in balance as a whole. A chip can be found nearby Nakago, but it can not be seen once Habaki is installed. Blade is well polished. Since this an ancient sword, small scratches are expected but the blade's condition is very good overall. Japanese characters Bizen Yoshii Naganori備前国吉井長則 is written on saya. However, as per NBTHK's expertise assessment, the sword was made by Fuyuhiro. This is a NBTHK certified Hozon Token.
Fuyuhiro was the son of Soshuden Hirotsug. He later moved to Wakashu, Wakasano Kuni (Fukui Prefecture as of today), and was actively engaged in sword smith's work.
Period: Muromachi Medium term Period
Mei:Mumei 無銘
Maker: Fuyuhiro 冬広
Blade Length: 51.8cm (20.40in)
Sori:1.8cm (0.71in)
motohaba: 2.7cm(1.06in)
mekugi ana:2

Thank you so much for that experience. I was holding my breath a nd had to remind myself to breath. I don't know if in will ever be able to possess such a blade because I would not dare buy one until I felt I was worthy of it. But this experience encourages me to study longer and try harder. What a beautiful thing. When you were pulling the blade through the cloth I didn't want that to end, I was disappointed when you got to the tip but cheered when you pulled it back the other way.

''This blade holds the very power of Japan...with a single swing the might of my ancestors will come crashing down upon my foes''... just something I came up with.I think it fits this Nihonto well. You possess a fine blade this comment is late but I hope she is doing well.

Very beautiful. I am jealous of everyone who has a genuine Nihonto. I'll probably never get one, as earning money here in Hungary even for a Chinese reproduction is not easy. It looks more like Hadori polish than Sashikomi polish.

Simon The Digger Give it time. Comes slowly. At 20 thought it impossible, at 30 unlikely, at 40 am debating two at over a million yen each..I never dropped the vision. May want to hurry even it means financing, they are steadily going up like Rolexes, seems that every Asian spoiled new millionaire wants one even though unaware of significance.

*Speed of Light* yes, there are also very low grade low score nihontos not worth collecting. Anything that was quality and so good that it was used by many owners, usually is much much higher priced.

Wait, is the nagasa actually 72cm or is it 51.8cm? 72cm is already a katana either late Koto or early Shinto period.

Best websites I've seen are Nihontoantiques.com and Nihonto.com. You can also look at amazon and Ebay, but it's 100000% best to do a lot of research to get to know what to look for in terms of quality in overall craftmanship.
