It's very interesting I'm watching the placement of the harness, is there a left and right harness, the way I'm seeing this your team always pairs up the same way, so are the britching set up for the right and left side are the britching set up to pull on the left and right.

Thank you sir. Well, they can be set up to work either side or single. Doesn’t matter about that. However, I set my harnesses up mainly so I can “dress” them from the side they work on. For instance…Kate works on the left. So she dresses from the left and all her buckles will buckle on the left. But it can be setup to do from either side. I don’t swap my animals around much. If you break them right they’ll work wherever you put them. And you can swap them if you like. I’ve just found it’s better to keep them where they are and let them learn that side. I will work mules 3 and 4 abreast or wide also. So they’ll get practice being on the left, side, back, front, etc. And mainly, they’ll get single time. That’s what makes sure nuff good’uns. Nothing replaces working single and the animal having to think for itself. Anyway, hope this answers your question and thanks for asking. Thx for taking time to watch and comment also. Brother Zach, is the biopren harness less care compared to leather, cleaning oiling wise, to keep in good condition? I like those stainless steel hames. Hey Mr. James! So yes, the biothane (harness) is a lot easier to keep up. You don’t have to do any of the oiling or any of that. It should actually float from side to side. This new harness, the ring is sewn in the middle. But it’s used for storing lead chain in. Snap it off to it. Hang the chain over the hames. Thank you for the question and taking time to watch and comment. Take care and do come again, please

It’s expensive tbh, but what isn’t these days. The quality is second to none. But a set of harness, collars, lines, bridles and all is about $2500.00 for this box britchen type harness like I have here. Well it cost twice as much to fly first class and it's a whole lot more comfortable 😂 The same must be true with a mule harness. Pay for it once or keep paying because it is poorly constructed. Ok that's about the analogies I have.

You do not want stuff breaking and coming apart, especially whenever you’re breaking a team to work. Well, if I do my job right, there will not ever be a runaway… The key to breaking mules in my humble opinion is never allowing them to learn the wrong thing.
