I’ve been fishing this reel for a few weeks now, and I absolutely love it. One thing I noticed in this video is how loud the drag sounds, when it’s right next to the microphone, it isn’t nearly that loud in person. I hate drag systems that you can’t hear, and the ones that are too loud , this reel is perfectly in between.

Good job. A video on unboxing that needed to be made! I watch so many unboxing videos (especially guitars) that I want to make my own using a sawzall, crowbar, and hammer but this was elegant. Im so grateful I feel like a drive to Columbus from Indianapolis is in order just to buy a few flies. I have a question for Brian. In this video you say you wouldn't use the clearwater reel for fishing in the salt? Why is that? I travel a ton and spend a bit of time fishing in Florida, why would I not want to use this reel down there? Also, what are youre recommendations for cleaning a reel like this SHOULD I use it to fish in the salt?? Thanks so much.

I don't understand how Orvis makes money? I bought a Battenkill 15 years ago for my small stream #2 ........ I don't I'll be changing it for another 15 years! I think I'll be needing a larger reel later in the year so I'll probably go with your recommendation.
